MY Beach House is located on the most beautiful beach cove of the Pacific Coast, Remanso Bay, close to San Juan del Sur area, only 6 km from center of the town. This 1700 sq. ft. beach house will provide you with all the comfort during your vacation and only 100 meters to a beautiful beach.
WiFi Internet, Claro TV and free of charge Magic Jack tel. connections to US and Canada are also provided.

The space

My Beach House was constructed to resemble local Nicaraguan architecture. Exposed roof beams, guanacaste and cana ceilings in all rooms, big ceramic tiles throughout the house. Very colourfull kitchen has two islands and it's fully equipped with all you may need to prepare your meals. You may, for a small fee, ask my employee Flor to cook the meals for you, she is a great cook. The island bar has a stunning view of the ocean while eating.
You can listen to the ocean while on the terrace, day and night.
All the windows and doors are rustic and were made by hand on site. All windows have mosquito nets. For more comfort, during a hot weather, bedrooms are equipped with AC. Please keep all the windows and doors closed while using AC. Electricity in Nicaragua is very expensive.

Guest access

The guests will have an access to the whole house. Except the bodega/laundry room. My guests can request their laundry to be done by Flor for a small fee.
Directions, on how to get to the house will be provided to you at the time of confirmed reservation.

Interaction with guests

I might or might not be present, at the house next door, during the stay of my guests. I do have two employees, Flor and Francisco, who will be attending daily routines around the house and your possible requests. My employees do not speak English so a knowledge of Spanish would be an asset or just use your hands and smile... Remember you are on vacation, do not stress, relax.

Other things to note

Please remember that energy is very expensive in Nicaragua. While not in the house, please turn off all the lights. Please use the AC when it is really necessary. The cost of using the A/C is $10.00 per day. This amount will be deducted from your damage deposit at the end of your stay.
The house has many windows with the mosquito nets, that provide a great cross ventilation and it is very comfortable to sleep at night with the wind and ceiling fans turned on.

Please remember that upon your arrival you will be asked for US$300 refundable damage deposit in cash, which will be refunded to you, pending no damage has been done, upon your departure.

Please be advised, that the cost of electricity in Nicaragua is the highest in Central America, therefore we have no choice but charge our guests for the use of A/C. Guests who will use the A/C will be deducted US $25.00 per week or US$5.00 per night (if stay is less than a week). Most of the time the A/C is not needed at all. The house has windows with mosquito nets in every room. If you keep them open at night the cross ventilation and outside breeze/wind will cool the house down at night and you will have a very comfortable sleep.

I would greatly appreciate if my guests treat my employees with respect.
They will be at your service during your stay and they would greatly appreciate your recognition in a form of gratuity at the end of your stay.

My wife and I had no extensive knowledge of this area before we booked our stay at Playa Remanso. It was a lovely surprise. The house is a quick walk away from the beach. It is quiet during the early morning and evenings and bustling with surfers during peak hours. We enjoyed the contrast. The sunsets were wonderful and the beach feels long and wide during low tide. High tide brings the waves all the way to the rocks. Shade could be found under a couple of sporadic trees or at either of the two small restaurants. Franco and Flora, the caretakers and hosts were lovely. They speak little English and we speak very little Spanish but that didn't impede our ability to communicate with them. They were very patient and kind and readily available to assist us. For instance, Franco helped us remove several wasp nests that had accumulated in the patio area. Flora helped my wife when the coffee machine's burner caused the bottom of the glass coffee carafe to split while our coffee was brewing. Overall, it was a great stay. The house is equipped with all you'd need to make meals. The air conditioner was broken during our stay but Franco mentioned that they have ordered a new one for future guests. We used the ceiling fans which worked well. If you're worried about insects you should likely choose something further from the beach. We were happy to trade the proximity for the critters and found them of little consequence if you were diligent with keeping the doors closed.

Thank you very much, Patrick, for your review and feedbacks. I am very happy that two of you enjoyed your stay at my beach house. This time of the year has definitely more critters due to rains falling at night and sometimes during the day. Dry season ( November to March) in Nicaragua has no bugs or very little for that matter. Yes, keeping the doors closed to the house eliminates them inside and window nets prevent them from getting in. I am very pleased that Franco and Flor took good care of you and were very helpful during your stay.

The beach house was so close to the beach that you could hear the waves at night. The patio is huge and we spent most of our time enjoying it. Flor and Franco are the best and were always there to answer questions or help out. The kitchen is stocked with most everything you could need. Since the house is so close to the beach it is very buggy. Also, be sure to bring your beach towels as you are only given 1 bath towel per person. The A/C in the bedroom worked well. The electricity seems to go out routinely about mid morning, but we just headed to the beach so it was never a problem.

Thank you very much Sahri for your review and very valid comments. I am very happy that you enjoyed your time at the beach house. I am very pleased that Flor and Franco are very helpful for my guests. Your concern regarding the bugs is very valid this time of the year. It is a rainy season in Nicaragua now, so bugs are out and colseness to the beach has no bearing on the amount of them, cause between November ad April a number of bugs are very scars. I hope that bugs did not take away from your vacation. I will ask Flor to provide beach towels to my future guests.

Margaret's place was great - super close to the beach and convenient. Beds were comfy and the kitchen is well stocked for cooking. The caretakers were always accessible and very helpful with any issues. Only one bedroom has A/C, and we had the power go out a few times but they do have a back up generator which helped for having a shower. Altogether a great stay, and very responsive host.

Thank you very much, Heather for your review and kind words. Makes me very happy that you enjoyed your vacation at my beach house and that my employees were of help and assistance to you. Yes, I was aware of the power outage during your stay, sadly sometimes this happens in Nicaragua but as you mention we do have a generator to compensate in the time of need. As to A/C, we are in a process of shipping two new units which are going to be installed by the end of May so two bedrooms will have A/C for the comfort of our guests. Wish you all the best, Margaret

This amazing villa really could not be any closer to the beach. You can check the surf from the patio while your breakfast is cooking in the lovely open kitchen. The bedrooms are large and comfortable, with a lovely breeze throughout the nights. We spent loads of time chilling in the hammocks enjoying the abundance of nature, or watching the stars - just an amazing place. Remanso beach is beautiful, best fish tacos ever (right hand side), and perfect for relaxing or learning to surf. CLose drive to SAN Juan and the other beaches are also worth checking out. Our host Margaret was always there to help, from the welcome cocktail

My husband Erik and I live in Ottawa, Canada. We both share the same passion for traveling. We have traveled to many countries and have seen many beautiful places. Many years ago we decided to open our Nicaraguan beach house to our guests and just recently we made a decision to open our house in Ottawa to welcome our guests, too. In our house in Ottawa, we will have a chance to meet our guest and host them personally but in Nicaragua, this is not always possible. While not in Nicaragua, our beach house and our guests are looked after by our devoted employees who make sure that our guests are very comfortable.
