We really enjoyed Karim's apartment. The pictures on airbnb don't do it justice. It's a very spacious studio for the city. It was very clean and set up with everything we needed. The bed was really comfortable and, although small, the kitchen was perfect for what we needed. It's location was also very convenient. There are tons of restaurants around the area that aren't your typical tourist trap restaurants. And although it's further away from some of the attractions, it's a short 2 block walk to the most convenient metro line which hits all the major attractions without having to transfer lines. You can be at Notre Dame, the Louvre, or the Eiffel Tower in 15-20 minutes. It was great! There's also a grocery store on the same street which was really convenient to have nearby.
Karim was also an extremely kind and helpful host. We unfortunately did not get to meet due to his work schedule and our odd travel times (we left at 3:30 am), but he was very communicative and check-in was a breeze. He called once we arrived to make sure everything went okay and let us know how some of the things in his apartment worked. He was very accommodating.
We only had a couple small issues with the apartment: Although the apartment itself is very clean, there was a Nespresso machine (which was great to have!) that had not been cleaned and contained green mold in the water tank. Owning one of these, we know they can get dirty quickly so it was not a big deal to clean ourselves. The other issue was the shower. It was also very clean, had hot water, and great pressure, but the shower only has one door covering half the tub and no matter how hard we tried, we could not keep water from leaking under and around this shower door onto the bathroom floor. We eventually stuffed a towel between the bottom of the shower door and top of the tub which helped some, but there was still some leaking. Again, this wasn't a big deal, but we went through several towels wiping up large puddles on the floor each time we showered. Also keep in mind that since the apartment is on a very busy street, it can be a little loud from the street noise. And Parisians like to stay out and party late!
Overall, we really enjoyed the apartment and the location. Karim was a great host and we would not hesitate to stay again!
