Its a 300 year old traditional Colonial stone house with very high ceilings 5 min walk to the centre. I'm renovating it and designing the furniture, its full of character. The room has a huge fan above the bed. Sitting room is comfortable with sofas with french doors open at night, hammocks in the tropical garden full of birds and tranquil.

The space

Its a huge old colonial brick house with a modern part at the back leading to the garden, a unique traditional, bohemian experience. I am renovating the house and it has been a massive project but very enjoyable! Your room is at the back and is extremely quiet with twin beds.
Air conditioning is not necessary in my house, tall ceilings mean its naturally always quite cool, the huge ceiling fan does the job.

I am always working on DIY projects in the house, using old abandoned and recycled elements together to create pieces of furniture, I m a fashion designer but this seems better fun! Its a work in progress but very comfortable with sofas looking from the lounge into my tropical garden which has an amazing diversity of wildlife and birds.

The bathroom has a huge window looking out onto the garden so you can watch nature while having a shower, it makes me so relaxed it should work for you too.

Guest access

Anywhere, places to sit in the garden, relax on the sofa, make yourself food in the kitchen.

Interaction with guests

Tranquil and peaceful after a day out as you sit in my garden on hammocks or dine outside. Inside is comfortable with huge doors I open every night

I spent a week at Manda's lovely place and felt totally at home. Her home is beautifully furnished and has a nice garden, which was perfect for a shared breakfast. I explored many interesting sites (ruins, cenotes) during my mornings and then worked during the evenings. Her internet connection was fine for general work (emails, accessing documents etc) but couldn't quite keep up with video calls - probably not a problem if you're simply holidaying! I'd definitely recommend staying at Manda's home if you'd like a relaxed base in Valladolid, and if you love animals!

Manda' house was delightful, really beautiful and very handy to everything. Manda has made a very helpful guide book full of restaurants and cenotes etc. Valladolid is a great little city to explore, although we were too hot to walk around much so mostly drove from one cenote to another. Thanks for a great stay and that yummy tepache drink!

Amandas place is absolutely nice! It is lovely furnished and located perfectly about 15 min walk out of town. She made us lovely breakfast every morning and helped us with our daily things we wanted to see. You should def love cats and dogs, because she has two lovely ones. The room is spacious, but unfortunately a bit dark. Valladolid and Amandas place is definitely worth a visit!

Can't recommend staying here enough. Manda is such a wonderful host. We felt so relaxed, we could have happily stayed in her beautiful house all day long! The space is gorgeous, like living in a museum, and Manda is fascinating to talk to. She had great tips on Valladolid, and made our experience so unique. I could rave about Manda, her home, Ozzy the cat, and the rest of her animal friends all day. I miss it already.

Manda is a thoughtful host, and we shared some interesting conversations over her homemade marmalade on toast at breakfast. Her place is lovely and close to the centre of town.

I am a fashion designer from England but I live in Mexico most of the year now. I wrote Cholombianos, a book about a streetstyle I followed and documented in Mexico. I have been working on my artisan clothing Affair de coeur which is all handmade in linen in my studio in my house often with embroidery of the local mayan women. I like to meet international creatives thats mainly why I am doing this.
