We stayed at Serge's place for 2 months, between January and March and we had a great time and would highly recommend it. When we arrived at the property Serge showed us to a 1 bedroom but we had booked a 2 bedroom. We expressed our concern with Serge and he was very understanding and provided an immediate solution. (Serge is new to AirBNB and has several different units so I would just confirm what you are booking.) The property is majestic and Serge and his yard-workers do a lot to maintain the beautiful plants and trees during the dry season. We were surrounded by Toucans, Macaws, White-Faced Monkeys, Coati, Iguanas, and the list goes on. It was amazing! Serge even brought us fresh coconut water, bananas and Guanabana all harvested from the property. The apartment is very rustic and clean. The floors are terra-cotta throughout, with an open concept kitchen/living area. The furniture is basic, but well-equipped. We asked Serge for a blender and he even brought us one within a day. There isn't Air Conditioning, but there are 2 ceiling fans, one in the bedroom and one in the living room. We work online and the internet was pretty inconsistent but Serge did everything he could, even getting a new internet provider which did improve the situation. The unit is equipped with a TV that had more channels than we knew what to do with, including English channels. We spent much time on the patio which had a gorgeous view of the ocean. To get down to the ocean there is a little path which isn't the easiest to walk down, but from there you cross the main road that runs from Jaco to Quepos and you're right at the beach. The beach is beautiful and great for surfing but you need to be more alert for swimming, because the current can get quite strong. Also, the sand is black, so during the day you'll want to cozy up in the shade and not walk barefoot on the dry sand - it will burn your feet! There are also some cool bars and restaurants that line the beach. Every Friday/Saturday there is a surf contest that is right out front of the Backyard Bar/Grill and afterwards there is live music. Also, check out Vista Hermosa for the food and Shakas for a chill place to work and get a coffee. As far as location, you can get into Jaco for about (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) Colones ($6-$10). It's you're typical beach city with lots of bars, restaurants, 2 supermarkets and they even have a farmers market every Friday morning called the "Feria Del Agricultor". You can get by shopping at the local store in Hermosa, but it is a limited selection so we made our way into Jaco at least once a weak. We are definitely very happy to have booked this place and it's truly one of the most beautiful properties in all of Costa Rica. Serge, merci beaucoup!

Perfect location, walking distance from the beach without the inconvenience of closeness to hotels and noise. Playa Hermosa is fantastic, lovely waves and warm water, with no croud. No need to go into the jungle to see wild life, they are all around you!

It was a real pleasure to stay in Serge's apartment. The apartment is clean, has all necessary kitchen and bath accessories and has wi-fi. The house has a pleasant front patio. There is a very large, shared sun deck which is great for catching the sunset, or taking in the view. The location of the apartment was fantastic and the view spectacular. It's located in Playa Hermosa just across the street from Hermosa's oceanside restaurants (I enjoyed Vista Hermosa) and surfboard rentals. From the apartment there is a beautiful view of the ocean and you can hear the waves crashing at night. There's also a large spacious garden surrounding the apartment with beautiful flowers. Costa Rica has such a rich variety of wildlife, so sometimes you can wake up to find exotic (and harmless) wildlife such as large beautiful, albeit loud, parrots. I would definitely go back and stay in the same apartment. Serge was very kind and helpful
