Françoise's Riad was a great location close to the souks and the roads around the outside. A wonderful 'oasis' to relax in at the end of a days tourism. Sabah was very attentive and we agree with another review that she cooked the best tangine and meal we had in Marrakesh. The currency exchange just up the road had good rates so there was no need to go to banks. Highly recommended.

We travelled as a family with four children staying at this lovely Riad in September 2017. The driver that they arranged to meet us at the Casablanca airport was friendly and lovely but the drive is almost 3 hours and very boring (not much to see at all) so we chose to fly from Marrakech back to Casablanca to meet our European connecting flight in case this is an option for you. (Apparently, the Casablanca airport has long immigration queues too.) The Riad is is in heart of old Marrakech. The first time you walk down all the dusty pink lanes you will worry you won't be able to ever remember how to get home but its actually easy once you notice a few landmarks. It is so authentic, and if you are after a genuine Moroccan family home, this is the place. It is very spacious - over four levels. Every level has bathrooms too (some showers are better than others though). It is sparkling clean too. And the rooftop terrace is fabulous. It is about 10-15 minutes walk from the heart of Marrakech. The first night we walked home and the tourist security guard positioned at the start of the closest laneway followed us to the Raid and waited until we locked the door, we were a bit worried but soon realised that was his job and that is why you feel so safe in Marrakech. (The Riad is down a very quiet laneway.) Plenty of people trying to get a few more duhrams which can be frustrating at times (including the porters who took our bags from the riad and I paid them 100 which should have been generous and they asked for another 100 which I paid but knew I was being hit up.) Overall we loved our stay here. It is homely, friendly and unpretentious. There are plenty of places more chic and glamorous but this is the real deal. And Sabah the housekeeper just makes it. Plus the local bakery at the end of the laneway selling fresh bread every morning... YUM!

Response from Françoise:
Thank you very much Carolyn for your detailed comments. Our house gives an idea of the real life in the medina, it is on purpose not to be too glamorouse. Here you share the moroccan way of life, except the problem that you met: the environment is some times polluted by some people asking for some coins. There is a touristic police who fights against. When I send information to our guests, I informed that if they use handcart they should not pay more than 30-40 dirhams (about 3 euros). I wish you the best to you and your family.

Francoise's riad was exactly as advertised-- spacious, comfirtable and clean. Ideally located in the old city and walking dustance to the many key spots in the area. She is accomodating and quickly resolves whatever issues we had. a Super Host indeed! As a nice bonus, Saba, the housekeeper, is super friendly and warm and made our visit thoroughly enjoyable. Will recommend the place to friends who plan visiting Marrakech next month.

Normally I wouldn't write such a long review, but... I can't say enough about how amazing our stay was in Marrakech. Françoise's riad is truly spectacular--spacious, clean, and comfortable, with an amazing roof deck and, best of all, a plunge pool for cooling off throughout the day. The riad's location, in the Dar el Bacha section, is central enough to everything in the Medina while also being tucked away from the chaos of the souks. Even though we felt very safe around the riad, a security guard is posted at the entrance of the street at night and walked us to our door. When you stay at Françoise's riad, you get more than a place to sleep. Françoise arranged for us to be picked up from the airport by a private driver named Fayssal, who was waiting for us outside baggage claim. Because cars aren't allowed in parts of the Medina, Fayssal dropped us off at the entrance to Dar el Bacha, where Sabah met us and walked us home. Sabah manages the riad while you're there. She is the kindest, sweetest, most helpful person. She even made us breakfast our first morning. Before scheduling any day tours outside of Marrakech, check with Françoise. We had an expensive day trip planned, but Fayssal, who is also a tour guide, offered to take us for half the price. And we had one of our best days of the trip visiting Ourika and the Atlas Mountains, where another guide, Mustafa, walked us up the mountain. A magical experience. There are many riads available in Marrakech, but Françoise's is really special.

Great spacious Airbnb which generally fits the description of the listing page - can be quite noisy at any times due to being in the middle of the medina - often heard the call to prayer, people talking down the alleyways and noise in the alleyways leading up to and surrounding the accommodation. Good check in and cleaner came daily - she was especially helpful to us as our baggage was delayed so she showed us where to get clothes on the first day.

Perfect location- right near the square and the souks but raid area is quiet and peaceful. Fayssal and Souad were wonderful, Fayssal very informative courteous and polite. I already recommended my friend to stay here in October! Thank you, Françoise!
