Sunny room in artist's-haven Bushwick, perfect to relax & recharge between NYC adventures. Close to hip restaurants, bars, coffeeshops, and weekend warehouse parties.

Subways nearby: JMZL (Walk 5 min. to J, 10 min to L & M.) Reach Manhattan in 20 min.

The space

The apartment is notably large for NYC and the bedrooms are particularly spacious. It's a railroad-style layout, with the two bedrooms on opposite sides of the middle communal area - which includes the kitchen, living/dining area, and shared bathroom.

Guest access

Kitchen amenities: stove, oven, dishes, small appliances (blender, juicer, waffle maker and food processor), spice racks, etc. Space in the fridge and pantry also available if needed - just let me know!

Living room: couch, dining table, record player, etc.

Closet space: there's room for you to store luggage and hang clothes behind the white closet doors. Blankets, sheets, and towels can be found in the stand-alone black closet next to the bookcase.

Bathroom space: I have 1 bathroom with a shower/bath, regular sink, toilet, and space for your toiletries. Towels left in the guest room. Let me know if you forgot any toiletries - it's most likely I can find stuff for you to use!

If you have any other requests, don't hesitate to ask! I'd love to help out when I can.

Interaction with guests

If you have any questions or want suggestions for your stay - I'm glad to help out! I have an NYC tourist guidebook you can borrow, and probably some maps lying around as well. Feel free to let me know your interests (e.g. foodies, music lovers, art appreciators, first-time tourists, frequent visitors, etc.) and I'll probably be able to provide some great suggestions with local insight.

I work regular business hours during the week - waking up around 7/8am to make coffee and shower (before leaving around 8/9am), and getting home around 7/8pm, unless I'm staying out. I'll probably be around a bit on the weekends to relax.

Other things to note

My cats were rescued off the street, so they're pretty grateful and probably more affectionate than most cats. :)

Meg is an amazing host and an amazing person. I stayed in NYC 3 months and she made everything to make me feel confortable in the appartement. She works a lot so sometimes I had the apartment only for me and when she was there she always respected my space and was always opened to chat with me. The room is very nice and the two cats are adorables. Manhattan is accessible with 3 different subway lines (9min walk from the apartment) and you can travel in Brooklyn also with buses (2min walk). If I have to go back to NYC I will definitely go back to Meg apartment :)

Meg & Ashley are both great girls. They made me feel at home since the very first moment. Communication with them was totally cool from the very beginning and they were also totally responsive to my necessities. I spent a total of three weeks with them and well you can imagine I did of their lightly and cosy room my own space and headquarter to explore NYC during my stay there. The flat is charming and cool, really well located between lines M-L and J (off to Manhattan in 20 minutes). I really loved Bushwick and felt the district really genuine for Brooklyn. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay with them. You girls rock!

Ashley and Meg were the perfect hosts. Extremely thoughtful, funny and kind they made me feel welcome from the second I arrived (with chilled water, guide books and other items to greet me) and went out of their way to ensure that my stay was the best it could be, offering great advice on the city and drawing maps with directions whenever needed. I really appreciated them inviting me to evenings out with their friends, to share dinners with them or have beers on the roof. I was travelling alone so felt grateful of the good company but it was also easy to feel like I had lots of my own space and privacy due to the layout and everyone having their own schedules. The whole apartment is a great size and beautifully decorated. The room was huge and bright with lots of storage space so it felt like I was staying in my own room, not crashing in someone else's bedroom which was great. The girls also cleared space for my things in the fridge and in the cute bathroom. It was nice to feel like I could access the whole apartment freely and with ease rather than just the bedroom. The kitchen was great to cook in with a glass of wine and there were lots of great books to read and records to listen to. The two cats were absolutely adorable, real gentle characters and extremely well behaved. They were assets in making the place feel even more like home. The area has a really authentic Bushwick feeling and being between two major subway stations with both the J and L trains to chose from made getting into Manhattan real easy. I would definitely recommend staying here and hope to see Meg and Ashley again.

I've lived in Bushwick for 4+ years, and it's still my favorite neighborhood in all of NYC. I am a social worker and work in the neighborhood. I love bike riding, camping, making/eating tacos, growing succulents, listening to music, and going on adventures. I enjoy meetin…
