A stunning 200 year old cottage with breathtaking views over the Dordogne valley. Three bedrooms and beautifully presented inside - and just as adorable outside. Swimming pool, terrace, great walks, fab cycling, canoeing. This house has it all.
Perfect house for a family holiday - just as our family has enjoyed for the last 10 years. Buffevent sits in about 2 acres of land, with a house left and right (both very quiet neighbours). There is a road at the bottom of the garden that can be a bit busy in the Summer (le Coux to Le Bugue road), but you honestly don't notice it much. A very quiet lane, used to access Buffevent, sits above the house.
The house sleeps 7 comfortably: one room with a double bed; one room with eaves comprising 2 single beds, and one large bedroom with 3 single beds. All upstairs and very peaceful. There's a bathroom upstairs and downstairs.
There is a separate kitchen with loo/shower room just beside it. Kitchen has all features you need, including dishwasher, Nespresso coffee maker, etc. Weber BBQ outside. Largwe lounge with wood-burning fire, satellite TV (although the signal is poor currently), Wi-Fi, DVD, games, etc.
Outside, there is a large patio with a table seating 10 (with awning), plus slightly wobbly table tennis adjacent. The house benefits from great views over the Dordogne valley; fantastic routes for walking, running and cycling in the area. Or just doing nothing.
You have access to the entire house, and your own 10m (fresh water) swimming pool. Nothing is shared with other properties. There are some private items stored in the barn, including car and a scooter, which are not available to guests. Check in time is from 4pm. Check out time is 10am.
Interaction with guests
The property owners will not be on site during your stay. The pool is cleaned weekly by a housekeeper.
Other things to note
This is a family home - it includes personal heirlooms and general family items. It is not a bland holiday house done up just for letting. Please respect the interior and exterior fittings. The fittings are all generally in very good condition.
No glassware in or near the swimming pool, please, owing to the precious plastic pool liner. Please avoid allowing too much sun cream to enter into the water too. No shoes on inside! No pets, sadly.
