Our stay at Federico and Marcella's (his mother), was easily one of out top three airbnb experiences ever. The location is ideal to walk throughout Rome and the Vatican. The building is residential and secure and the apartment is cozy, clean and very well equipped. Our stay there was immaculate and we would have loved to stay longer. As for Federico and Marcella, their hospitality is second to none, and their warmth are that of a brother and a mother (living up to the mediterranean character). We greatly enjoyed our daily chats and Marcella set an example in kindness by offering us a freshly homemade vegetarian dish on our last night!! Federico even accommodated my check in 3 hours ahead of time! The room itself is absolutely beautiful and spotless! All in all I fully recommend this place for single persons, or couple looking to enjoy a real Roman lifestyle with a classic Italian family that never shies of offering its best to its guest! Marcella you are the best! Nagi and Farah

Location. Bad. It's so far from anything you want to see in Rome. The neighborhood is safe, clean and the building itself is nice. You can take a street bus or walk about 45 minutes to see any other tourist around. I wish I had chosen a better location, easier to reach all the attractions Rome can offer. The apartment is on the second floor (America) or first floor (Italy). There is a tiny elevator however there are stairs to get there. Several gates until you get to the front door of the apartment. Then a long hallway with two tables full of stuffs. It looks cluttered. The kitchen on the right is dirty and also cluttered. Then the bedroom/ suite facing the courtyard. It's usually quiet. The bedroom is ok sized. The bathroom looks new but very, very small and she shower is even smaller. Several times taking shower I hit the water knob closing or changing the water temperature. The sheets are very uncomfortable. Very rough and the material is very thick and totally inappropriate for the summer, actually inappropriate for any time of the year. It's advertised air conditioning however the portable A/C wasn't installed and was never offered to be installed. It was above 91 F or 33 C. I contacted Federico by Airbnb messenger to install the A/C or bring a fan to the room but never got an answer, I found a tower fan in the closed but it was making so much noise was almost impossible to sleep and not cooling the room enough to feel comfortable. We woke up in the middle of the night wet from the heat and annoyed from the noise from the fan. Was hard to fall sleep again. I met Federico mom when we arrived and when we left. I met Federico just when we felt. Marccella speaks a little English and wasn't able to say much about the neighborhood or about the city, things that most of Airbnb hosts do. We had to find out everything by ourselves. The host offers a complementary breakfast. Tea bags, espresso capsules (only the first day) croissant and toast and jelly. No milk. All from a grocery store. Nothing homemade. They have a dog and at least 3 cats and I'm not sure if this is mentioned on their profile. For two nights when we went back to the apartment we smelled smoke from cigarettes or maybe from weed. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I hopped staying in a Italian home could be great to have a real experience with locals but we barely met them, usually we left the house by 10am and come back by 11pm and no one was visible home.

Federico and Marcella ( and Agi, their lovely dog) are wonderful hosts. Interested and patient in what we are up to. Most friendly and helpful. We just felt right at home. It was close to the tennis for us but also the is a great nightlife area at Ponte Milvio and adjacent a friendly local restaurant. There is a bus and tram hub at Mancini for access to everything. After busy days and nights it was lovely to return to the apartment that was like a sanctuary, tranquil and quiet. Thanks for you patience with our Italian. A prossima volta. Rob and Elisabetta

We really enjoyed our stay chez Federico!Cozy, spacious and clean apartment located in a secure and quite area. Very close to public transportation. Super thoughtful host and lovely pets! There are restaurants around, we tried pizzeria and Peruvian restaurant, both have delicious food with very reasonable price. Highly recommended.
