About this listing

Our Charming Country Cottage is in a beautiful secluded garden setting surrounded by Oak trees, California plants and flowers. It is a short drive to all amenities and you will feel like you are in your own private world. It's walking distance to trails and nature as well as minutes to the 101 freeway. It feels like a hidden sanctuary. We live here and rent it out when we travel so we apologize but it is not always available. It is super quiet, safe and relaxing.

The space

Our Charming Country Cottage is the best of both worlds. You feel like you are in the middle of nowhere but you are close to everything. It consists of 2 Bedrooms (we use the 2nd bedroom as an Office and guest room). The home has a completely remodeled kitchen and living room. The Industrial Farmhouse Kitchen has all amenities, new dishwasher and professional gas range/oven and open shelving. The living room was recently remodeled with beautiful Hickory wood floors a stone fireplace and new furniture including a Restoration Hardware Belgian Linen sofa and Boulingerie French Rustic Farmhouse dining table. The Living room opens on to a large redwood deck with outdoor teak dinging furniture. Living room has vaulted high ceilings, French doors, wood fireplace, 52" flat screen TV, Cable TV and Streaming with Roku, Amazon, Netflix, you can add any channel like Showtime or HBO if you want it . The master bedroom has a Cal King Bed and french doors that open onto a beautiful deck beneath oak trees. The 2nd bedroom/office has a super comfortable single bed. ( we can provide a full size aero bed as well). We have super High Speed wireless internet, central air and heat, ceiling fans, outdoor dining, plenty of parking and a shared Washer/dryer. The exterior has been completely landscaped. There is outdoor living room and a beautiful outdoor shower and clawfoot bathtub. The street is dead end so very few cars come up here. There are friendly neighbors close by.

Interaction with guests

I am usually the one who meets you at the Cottage, I will let you know all about the property and the local area. restaurants, shops and best beaches and places to hike or visit. I am always available for anything you might need.

Other things to note

We only rent the cottage out when we travel so it's not always available but please let us know your dates and we will see if we can accommodate you. Most often there is a cool ocean breeze. Our street is very rural but it is only minutes to the 101 freeway ( freeway noise is negligible). We know all our neighbors and they are helpful and friendly. I have a guest house on the property with it's own private area, driveway etc. Right now my mom lives in it. The only thing that is shared is the washer dryer.

The rate that you pay for our cottage includes $4.00 of propane gas use a day. that come out to approximately $120 per month Included. Anything over that will be due on top of the day rate. It will also include $3 of electricity per day or approximately $100 per month and anything over and above that will be due on top of the day rate. You should not worry as you would have to be abusing the heat or Ac to go over these minimums and hardly ever use air conditioning here because of the cooling ocean breeze. This is a non smoking, non shoe wearing house (slippers or other indoor only shoes are permitted). Please take off shoes in entry before entering. Private driveway close to the cabin. There and have never been any Cats. (dogs are negotiable). No Smoking on the property. No excessive or loud partying, no loud music that can be heard within 60 feet outside the house. No operating a retail or client based business where clients have to come to the house. We are on a septic system so all soaps and detergents must be biodegradable. Nothing can be put down the toilet except the normal stuff. The Air conditioning and heaters must be turned off when you leave the house for over 20 minutes or more. If you detect any water or gas leaks inside or outside the home then you must shut off the water and gas immediately and contact the Host and/or the gas company, or my Handyman and/or in the case of a gas leak the fire dept. I will provide you with instructions on how to shut things off in case of leak and I will give you all pertinent contact info in case you can't reach me and something needs fixing. Parking is in the driveway only. The washer dryer is shared and therefore you agree to limit your wash and dryer use to 5 loads per week unless owner gives you permission to do more. The trash goes out Thursday evening or before 7:00am Friday morning. If for any reason this cabin is deemed unlivable due to circumstances outside the fault of the Host, such as acts of god or for any other reason that cause the renters to have to vacate the property outside of their own personal reasons, then you agree to vacate immediately and indemnify the owner, holding him harmless and the unused portion of the rent for any days the unit was deemed unlivable will be returned to you as well as the security deposit minus any damage to pay for repairs caused by you or your guests as per airbnb rules. No guests other then the ones renting the house will be allowed to stay at the house without prior written consent by owner.
