In easy reach of the SW Coast Path, the St Agnes Beacon, and numerous beautiful family and surfing beaches, it benefits from a rural situation within short walking distance of the lovely and thriving village of St Agnes, and from easy access to the A30.

We welcome dogs and children, making it an ideal spot to make the most of Cornwall all year round.

The space
Bonnie Doon ticks all the boxes for your family holiday or romantic getaway. A pretty white cottage with stone walls, a slate roof and exposed beams, it is traditionally charming while benefiting from all the modern conveniences you would expect.

The spacious but cosy living room features a wood burning stove and a large L-shaped sofa-bed and armchair, and a flatscreen smart TV if you fancy a quiet night in by the fire or relaxing during the day. There is a large L-shaped sofa-bed and armchair. In addition to the main living room there is a south facing sun room to the front of the house with an armchair, perfect for a morning coffee with a book or newspaper.

The newly fitted kitchen with ash worktops and a top of the range dual dual cooker, kettle, microwave, toaster and dishwasher is fully equipped with all the essentials for you to self cater comfortably for a family of four.

Underfloor heating and a new dishwasher gas combi boiler mean you’ll always have comfort at your fingertips whether you’re showering off the salt in summer or warming up after a winter walk.

A door leads out from the kitchen to a separate utility area with a washing machine and pulley airer, space for bikes, surfboards and wetsuits and an outdoor tap for washing wetsuits.

From there, steps lead up to a decked garden area with a table and chairs ideal for al fresco eating, and sunset views of the St Agnes Beacon and countryside. Two gates lead out from here, one onto Penwinnick Road which will take you into the village or onto one of many local walking or cycling routes, and one onto a communal green where children can play safely on the grass.

Upstairs, the master bedroom is a large double, light and airy, with a king size bed and plenty of space for a travel cot which can be provided on request. The second bedroom is perfect for children, with shorty bunk beds suitable for children up to approximately age 12 (up to 150 cm / 5 ft and 75 kg per bunk).

Where you’ll be

Cornwall, England, United Kingdom

St Agnes is a beautiful and thriving village on Cornwall’s north coast. With dog-friendly beaches, spectacular coastal paths, individual and interesting shops, and wonderful pubs and restaurants, it’s well worth a visit.

St Agnes (or Aggie as it’s affectionately known) is in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, 10 miles (16 km) southwest of Newquay, and is a popular spot for tourists who enjoy the rugged landscape and sheltered beaches. The picturesque village has several shops, bars and restaurants, and beautiful old stone cottages which line the main street and are staggered down the steep hills.

Five minutes drive from the cottage, nestled in a valley at the bottom of the village, is Trevaunance Cove, St Agnes’ main beach, popular with both families and surfers. It’s perfect for children, as has a gently shelving beach and is safer for the little ones to play under the lifeguards’ watchful eyes. When the tide is out there’s a small stream to splash in and numerous rock pools to explore. Dogs are allowed all year round, if they remain on their leads.

The cottage is within easy reach of the south west coastal path, and the raised sun deck at the back has a sunset view of St Agnes Beacon. It's a brisk 20 minute walk to the top to take in the stunning panoramic views along he coast path and from there you can carry on to St Agnes Head and the coastal path which leads you past the iconic Wheal Coates engine house to Chapel Porth beach to the west or to Trevaunance Cove to the east. This is a truly stunning part of the country, and this stretch of coastline is particularly spectacular.

There are plenty of car parks along the coastal path giving you all the options - from a challenging six mile circular hike from the doorstep, to a park up in the NT car park at Chapel Porth for an ice cream.

Chapel Porth, a National Trust owned and maintained beach with beautiful views out across the Atlantic, and which plays host to the annual Belly Board Championships in September. The little café in the car park is locally renowned for its ‘hedgehog ice creams’: Cornish ice cream smothered in Cornish clotted cream and then rolled in hazelnuts, this is one indulgent and delicious treat!
