I want everyone who reads this review to know that if you're staying in Saint-Remy, this is the best place in town! The house was delightful and immaculately clean! We were a family of 6 adults traveling together and we had more than enough room. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, coffee or nespresso maker, and lovely appliances; it really had everything you would need to prepare a meal. There are 2 bathrooms one with a combo tub / shower and the other with just a shower; both have toilets, which is nice when you have 4 women and 2 men getting ready at the same time. We had the fluffiest white towels and the bathroom also had a blow dryer which was great. The only thing we missed in the house was wifi; so we had to live without it or try to connect when we had the chance in town.
I can't say enough about the hosts and the warm welcome we received with a bottle of wine, lovely olive and sun-dried tomato tapenades from the village and crusty toasts. We were a bit lost driving from the train station in Avignon so we called Regis for directions. He had his step father, Serg, meet us in town and escort us to the house. Once we were there, Serg showed us all around the house, gave us advice on where to eat, where to buy groceries, and what to do while we were visiting. He made us feel at home immediately! But before I even left Florida, Eve emailed me the most wonderful 44 page presentation of the house and the amenities, the surrounding area, restaurants, places to visit, things to do; it was really impressive! The house is situated just a short walk 10 minute walk from town so it is nice and quiet at night.
Saint-Remy is a great place to stay in Provence as it is a good starting point to many other fascinating and quaint Provencal towns such as Avignon, Les Baux and Aix. The hosts are just the most wonderful people you ever want to meet. I would definitely recommend staying at the Mas and will definitely stay here again when I visit.
