Guests often search for this popular amenity
Rustic countryside cabin, in a downtown neighbourhood. Approximately 450sq ft of chill out space to rest and relax after a day on the trails, the slopes or wandering through everything Downtown Courtenay has to offer. A fully equipped funky and eclectic kitchen to make yourself a complete meal. An outdoor shower to warm up or clean off the days grime. The complete bathroom uses a top of the line eco- composting toilet. Loft style sleeping area with ladder access makes for a cozy nights sleep.

The space
The building is over 60 years old and was used as a space for a gentleman to do his woodwork. The exposed old growth roof reminds you of a cabin in the woods, but the lay-out is fairly modern. Laying upstairs on the queen sized bed with the LED lighting on reading a book, will make you feel like a kid in a tree Fort. All the trim pieces in the cabin were salvaged from a Fairfield home in Victoria built in the 1870’s, and is lovely old growth Douglas fir. We’ve tried to use recycled materials through out the cabin where possible. Outside the covered deck is a great place to stay out of the rain, or to enjoy the outdoor shower. A well used older surfboard that’s tasted the ocean from Sombrio beaches to the warm water of the Baja has found its forever home at the cabin. A nice quiet, inviting and chill place to relax and feel like that kid in a tree Fort.

Where you’ll be

Courtenay, British Columbia, Canada

We are close to everything! We are a short 5 minute walk to Courtenays unique 5th street downtown. There you'll find a great selection of amazing eateries, from hand crafted pizza, to delicious Ramen, Taco's, and of course the Valley famous Atlas Cafe on 6th ( absolute MUST for breakfast...The best eggs Benny ever!) Great swimming is had all summer long, and the cabin is close to all the downtown swim holes. Lewis Park, Condensory Bridge, and Puntledge park are all an easy walk, or quick bike ride away.

During your stay

While we consider the Comox Valley home ( Becky's family is one of the founding families here ) we are now living in Victoria while Becky finishes up at UVic. While we are phone call away, we do have family and a family friend minding the Cabin for us. The main house is rented, and our tenant is a friendly local guy. The cabin yard is private and is separated from the main home's yard by a fence.
