We needed a quick overnight stop on the way to northern Kruger. The booking was handled efficiently and Sara Maria and Carlos were friendly and welcoming hosts. After a comfortable night we enjoyed a good breakfast and were on our way.

We had a beautiful stay with Sarah-Maria and her husband Carlos. The room was very nice. Everything was there including coffe and tea. There was a private patio in their beautiful garden were you can sit and have a drink or read a book. Sara-Maria made us a beautiful brekfast in the morning. They were both very good hosts. They provided us with a lot of good information. We defenatly go back the next time.

Love. From Sara's house to her furniture, garden, dogs, food, coffee and exuding from her person, is love. Sara and Carlos were careful to not intrude on my space and rest; but were absolutely wonderful to be around. I was blessed to chat with them over coffee before I continued my travel. Even if I just pass through Baberton in future, I will see if they are free for another cup of coffee. The room was simple, with eclectic furniture, very clean and she had thought of everything. One of my pet hates is tiny long-life milk sachets but Sara had even put fresh full-cream milk in the fridge for me. The towels were crisp. The fan was already blowing when I arrived so the room was fresh. For those with an appreciation for heritage and horticulture, their home is a wonder. A massive jacaranda crowns the driveway, ancient cacti tower into the back yard, a creeping vine hugs the 100 year old house and Sara is a hobby cultivator of all sorts of plants. I'll leave the rest for you to discover.

Staying with Sara and Carlos was like being welcomed home by family. Stopping in Barberton instead of Nelspruit was certainly a wise move. The breakfast was delicious, the time too short. They were both very helpful recommending a great Belgian restaurant and assisting with any of our queries. They even remembered our wedding anniversary and sent us a kind text message. Lina and I both hope to host you in our home on the way to Fiji sometime.

Maria and her husband were splendid hosts, very attentive. I had booked at the last minute and Maria responded quickly. I even decided to stay another night to rest before returning home and left with some photos they took of me. Hosts are polyglots and make a good breakfast!

Maria and Carlos are surely among the best hosts we had while travelling across SA. They are very friendly, welcoming and interested in the guests' well-being. Informative and attentive, always ready to help. The place we stayed at was clean, featured all the usual amenities, and was located within a beautiful garden which also happened to have a blossoming jacaranda tree in front of the house - an unforgettable experience! Would most certainly recommend Maria and Carlos' home at the wild frontier, not far from the Kruger National Park and even closer to Suazi. Go check for yourselves!
