I was working full time and not around much and when I was I was in the room studying, so I did not get to interact with the roommates much. However, when I did, they were all very nice and welcoming. The place could have been a little cleaner. I saw a couple of roaches here and there, but overall it was good. There were no mice, so by NYC standards, that is pretty good.

I stayed in Piper's room for over two months throughout the summer and overall have no regrets. NYC can be a gamble when it comes to housing and roommates so even though there may be cons it was still very much worth it. Overall, I'm thankful I was able to stay in Piper's room and live in the area she is located for my time in New York. Pros: -All of the roommates are extremely nice and helpful. They are willing to recommend local spots for various ventures and cause minimal noise. They are also all quite the characters and what you would hope to meet being in NYC. -The neighborhood is extremely Latin and full of culture. It's in upper Manhattan and crowded at just about anytime making it feel safe walking to and from the train at night. -There's numerous lively bars surrounding the apartment. -The 1 and A trains are SUPER close. -The apartment is decorated very bohemian, colorful, & cute. -All bedding, towels, and other basic supplies were ready for me when I arrived. -The price I paid was ~excellent~ for NYC rentals despite any cons listed. Cons: -The building is quite old which comes with some unpleasant side effects such as many things being broken (such as the oven, doorknob, etc). There were also occasional roaches. -The apartment has no AC. A window unit was purchased for the room I was staying in so it may be there in the future, but overall it gets pretty warm for someone not used to living without central AC. -The cleanliness of the overall apartment is iffy. -The room is extremely small; great for a short stay but I was definitely ready to get back to my Texas sized room after a couple of months. -The bed is the squeakmaster 5000 and on wheels; it rolls and squeaks just while tossing and turning throughout the night.
