Host was very responsive to email and changes in arrival time due to flight problems. Apartment was super clean, comfortable bed, easy walking distance to everything including train/bus stations. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again. Grazie.

We love everything about Maurizio's place. The location is conveniant, the rooms are very spacious, it has a really nice small balcony, great lighting, good wifi. Maurizio recieved us and expleined everything about the aparment and the neiberhood, leaving us some recomendations too. He leaves the aparment with a lot of basic stuff such us adapters, mosquito tablets, lots of kitchen elements, even nail polish remover! If you have some free time there are a lot of art books that help you learn about the city (and other stuff too), it is a nice detail. You should know that it is a First floor by stairs, as most of the buldings in the area. We would definitely stay there again.

This apartment is great. 20 mins to station. Facilities as described. Clean and airy. My complaint is that the host could not provide us with a spare key after we accidentally left our key in a museum. We contacted the host at 23:40pm upon realising we were locked out. The host said it was too late and he was out of town. He didn't offer any further assistance and we 3 women including our 70 year old mother had to walk the streets of Florence until the museum reopened at 8:30am to retrieve the key. We tried all hotels and hostels but all were booked. We found a bartender to be more helpful than the host as he called various hotels for us but unfortunately there were no vacancies. No further contact from the host until 2pm the next day. No back up plan if you misplace or have your key stolen, beware. I appreciate it was late but we would have collected a key ourselves if we had been given the opportunity. The host was not willing to contact friend or family with a spare key. Accidents happen and hosts should be aware and prepared for these situations.

Response from Maurizio:
Dear Sarah and company it is not my fault if you do not know how to care for yourself, three of you lost the keys at the Academy Gallery closing at 6.30 pm and coming to ask the keys for replacement in the middle of the night, I certainly expected that can happen and I have arranged with friends and relatives for a ready solution but certainly not at midnight, when traveling you also have to be careful about the basic things, anyway next morning I was ready already from the early hours but you sent me a message at 8 am that you had recovered the keys at the Academy and everything was settled. Then your personal message before the review sounds really bad . . . you certainly know what I mean. The lost key office is open from 8am to 11pm, then we go to sleep. I do not want to bore with the details we both know very well, next time do not blame anyone for your flaws. saluti Maurizio.

Maurizio's flat is absolutely as it appears on the pictures, very nicely decorated and lots art books. Our family (2 adults, 3 kids) stayed four days in this flat. Maurizio welcomed us kindly and gave us some tips for our stay. It is 10-15 mn walk from the Duomo, perfectly located. The only issue was the heat. The fans are ok, but the temperature was around 40°c and in this case it's clearly not enough, but well, I don't know if this weather is usual or not. Except that, it was perfect :)

This apartment is in a great location for those who want to be close to everything! Great apartment with a lot of room, but it is on a major street so it was loud in the first room when I had to open the window because it was hot. We went during the summer so it was hot and humid which led to me opening the windows and opened up the room to mosquitoes, which is to be expected. If you don't mind heat, I would recommend keeping the windows closed because I was ripped up by mosquitoes. Overall, great place but would recommend for times other than summer.

Response from Maurizio:
I'm sorry Todd, but with the refreshing fans and the windows closed the problem that you mention does not exist and of my previous 76 guests no one complained. Speaking of the mosquitoes the apartment is equipped with enough anti mosquito pads, just put them into operation.

Sono un artista e questo appartamento è stato il mio studio per molti anni. Amo il buon cibo, ogni tanto mi diletto in cucina. Vivo fra Firenze e Montespertoli, dove ho un parco museo dedicato all'arte contemporanea.
