Originally I booked the room for 14days but left after 2.5. This was the most stressful experience ever renting a place. I did not meet the Host Bernadette, there was nothing wrong with the apartment, But it started already with the communication beforehand&the check in; the Host mixed up my arrival time, expected me to make expensive international phone calls, even though all details were emailed. There was no parking space available when needed (The reason why I had to move). The host was not available via email, hardly on her phone; lastly Airbnb& myself couldn’t get hold of her for two days when we tried to find a solution. InDetails:
Before I booked I clearly asked if there is FreeParking at the site, without a car was not an option for my trip.The host assured that there is free parking around.After I booked the room, she sent a mail that the free parking is 10min away&at the site is available evenings until 9am. Already alarming but I thought that it would be ok./Several times I sent my appr. arrival time 8.30pm,(I can’t estimate how long the car rental pickup will take). She replied two times, that someone will be at the flat waiting for me at 7pm! Why 7pm?I wrote again that I arrive 8.30pm she then replied that Marylene&HansJurgen will be in the flat at 20h30 local time to wait for me: No one was there, I arrived ~20.45! had to double park; the police almost issued a ticket, but offered help once they realized that I was unable to get into the apt. Since I had no credit on my phone, they called HansJurgen who didn’t seem to know about my arrival nor had any houseKeys. We called then the host without any success.I was lost in what to do next.About 30 min later the host picked up in an angry voice that someone was waiting for me since 2 h, and to call that number.The host still didn’t seem understand my arrival time of 8.30pm. In the end Marylene returned with the keys, though,a scheduled dinner with friends was missed. //The next day several meetings were scheduled, each time upon my return to the flat I found myself circling around the area for at least 30min, one time even 45min to find a parking space. The Host provided a map with the Parking I was pose to use, unfortunately it was always occupied.
A situation and stress I had not experienced before. It was not possible to enter the apt between the meetings for short breaks. Several times I called Airbnb from the car in front of the house to explain the situation. I understand,yes, there is parking, but it was not available.I was burned out. A lot of time wasted and in between all attempts to reach the host to find a solution failed. Airbnb couldn’t reach her either and let me move out to find a new place.
