Former shepherd's cottage, lovingly upgraded into a cozy, rustic home. Comfortably sleeps three. Enjoy a lovely private pool with mountain and sea views. A perfect getaway in charming Galilea village, just a short drive to Palma and beaches.

The space

Welcome to Casa Elena!

The cottage consists of a fully-equipped modern kitchen with breakfast table, one larger bedroom with a double bed, one small bedroom with a single bed, one full bathroom, a spacious sitting area (with writing desk and fireplace), and a separate dining area. Large glass doors lead to the stone terrace and pool, where you can enjoy fantastic and unobstructed views of the valley leading down to the sea.

Casa Elena is perfect for couples and small families looking to experience the peaceful mountain village life that Galilea offers while enjoying the charm of a free standing stone cottage, surrounded by almond, olive and fig trees, and your very own private pool.

Interaction with guests

We live in Asia, but the Property Manager, Ulla, lives a few houses down the road in Galilea, and speaks fluent English, Spanish and German. She will be your first point of contact if you have any questions or concerns, but otherwise will leave you to enjoy your holiday.

Other things to note

We don't have an internet connection - on purpose. We like to unplug while there, and rely on the free wifi at the cafes and restaurants in Galilea to check email or the news as needed.

You can access the roof terrace from the side of the house, but young children should not be permitted to climb to the top. We find the pool terrace to be more comfortable and spend all of our time there.

The sofa does fold out into a bed, but since there is only one bathroom, we feel that a maximum of three people is optimal.

You may notice some cracks in the stone and plaster inside the house. These are cosmetic in nature and fairly common in older hill side homes in Galilea.

Laundry service can be arranged for an additional fee.

It is very well fitted out and they are obviously keen cooks because everything we needed was there. The views are great too. The pool between 6 and 7 metres long was larger than we had expected from the photos which was a pleasant surprise. Although there is no wifi the mobile signal allowed us to stay in touch with family and the news. All in all a very relaxing, comfortable place ideal for anyone looking to get away from the crowds. The roads are however narrow with very sharps bends and may not be ideal for nervous drivers. The local BIP supermarket in Puigpunyent about 5 k away was well able to meet all of our needs without having to travel further afield.

The house is truly exceptional. It is located in a small spanish village, with beautiful landscapes, an exceptional setting. The village is very well located, there are beautiful beaches not far away and hiking. There is everything in the house for a great stay, you feel at home quickly. Andrew And Simrin have given us very good addresses and advice for an even more exceptional stay. They are very available and respond quickly. Thank you for the housing, you made it even more beautiful.

We had a lovely time staying at Casa Elena. After an unexpected late arrival, Ursula was waiting for us with a bottle of wine. She looked after us very well. It was a great place for us to stay with our toddler and baby and everything was provided for us including a cot and high chair. The location was ideal for us to explore the southwest of the island. Thank you for a great stay and we would recommend Casa Elena as a great place to go.

We had a wonderful week in Casa Elena. We had a car all week which is necessary if you want to explore the island and it was so nice to come home "in the evening. The house had everything we needed. We slept very well in the comfortable beds and the silence that prevails in the village. Fantastic, secluded garden with a nice pool to cool in. We enjoyed staying in Galilee, a quiet and pleasant little town with a cafe and two restaurants, one with a wonderful view. Ulla, our hostess, was very helpful, gave tips on excursions and questions that arose during the week. We hope to come back to your house as this was an incredibly nice and relaxing environment. Many warm greetings from Tommy and Lena, Sweden

We loved everything about this place! The pool is amazing with a great view, the kitchen is well appointed and clean, the bed is incredibly comfortable (I'm 6'2" tall) My wife (who by her own admission is very particular about this sort of thing) said the towels and linen were extremely clean and fresh. Situated in a sleepy and untouristy mountain top village with amazing views, although the drive there at 11pm wasn't for the faint hearted with the tight roads and switchback twists. There's an amazing tapas bar (Cafe sa Placa) by the church that has an incredible view, simple but delicious food and genuinely lovely staff, we were there pretty much daily. A slightly irrelevant point to make but one I'll make anyway, is the TV doesn't work (I think it died in 80's) but playing cards seems way more in keeping with the cottage and the village. PS any internet junkies - 3G is pretty strong in the village (and the rest of the island for that matter)

This is a super cosy little house which after just a few hours feels like it's your own home. everything you might need is there for one to use - even umbrellas & sunhats :). The outside area & pool is private & the view amazing.

We had a great time at Casa Elena. It was perfect for our holiday and it was well described. The manager Ulla was really helpful and organised a cot for us. Galilea is a lovely village to stay in if you want to explore north-western Mallorca but you will have to drive around a lot of switchbacks in the mountains!
