This is a beautiful country home with an outstanding host. Brenda could not have been friendlier, we're helpful, or a better cook. She loves her animals is it and is a very down to earth person. I think this is an ideal place to stay. The home is impeccably clean, well decorated, and refreshing. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

For $1200 per month for this tiny room, I did not get privacy. Brenda constantly wanted to know my work schedule, she moved my personal items when I was away. Her dog pooped all over the grass. Her horse and cat had the walk way to her house smelling like a barn yard. The house is in the middle of nowhere so there is no pizza delivery there. There are far cheaper places that offer more privacy. The food caused uncontrollable vomiting and I had to miss work. She wanted more for this tiny room than many 1 bedroom apartments in Iowa. I felt like she was trying to be my mom the way she followed me around when I walked away from her. I felt like I was always having to explain myself. Save your money and look elsewhere because for this price you are being taken advantage of.

Response from Brenda:
It is sad to have to say, but much of this guest's review is in accurate. The only time that I was even in her room was the one time she let me wash her bedding. When I entered her room to make the bed and vacuum, I found that she had taken the liberty to use my antique steamer trunk containing vintage blankets and quilts as her personal laundry basket and filled it with 10 days of damp, dirty clothes. I provided a laundry basket and moved the clothes into that. This is the one and only time that I was even in her room and nothing else of hers was touched. Since this guest wanted her privacy, I only engaged her on a polite conversation basis when she was in the common areas, when she had a personal phone call on the business line, or when there was an issue that needed to be addressed. I repeatedly explained that the only reason for asking if she would be working was to determine if I could lock the doors behind the other guests at night. Otherwise, I wait up for all of my guests to get in and settled before locking up for the night. As for the odors on the farm, well, it is a farm with animals, a fact that is clearly mentioned in the description, and is located in the middle of farm country which includes the neighboring farms that raise crops, cattle, hogs, sheep, goats and horses. I am also extremely sorry that this guest was ill while staying here, however, in 8 years and thousands of guests through here, I have never served food that caused people to be ill or give them food poisoning, as this guest claims. All of the food that was served to her was also eaten by myself and the other guests and no one was made ill. I take great care to prepare food properly and know that it is safe when it is served. It quickly appeared obvious that this guest did not fully read the description of this establishment and was uncomfortable with a rural environment. I deeply regret that this guest was so dissatisfied with the accommodations and hope that people looking at my B&B as a possibility will take the time to read the reviews for some of my other Airbnb guests or the reviews on other websites.

Brenda is a wonderful host, so kind and welcoming. Our family took up four of her rooms for a weekend, all of the rooms were beautifully decorated, we just went from room to room in awe, excited to look at all the unique pieces of furniture and decor. The blue room is across from the restroom which works out if you have to go often ;) The view from each room is wonderful, nice green farm land, it's a quiet and peaceful area. The house is huge and has a beautiful rustic feel, it was much cleaner than some hotels we've stayed at in the past and the breakfast surpasses them all.
