The apartment is located on the ocean side hill face of Currumbin hill, one block from the beachfront and enjoys beautiful views of the pacific ocean and the patrolled beach. Our holiday apartment is on the ground floor of the property . The air conditioned apartment is fully self contained with its own kitchen, bathroom and laundry facilities and has a separate entrance. It is less than a ten minute cab ride from the Gold Coast domestic/international airport. It is only a two minute short walk to the patrolled Currumbin beach, beach side cafes and the Currumbin surf club. The Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and public buses are only a five minute walk away.
The property has excellent security with recorded CCTV cameras at all access points . The property has a remote controlled vehicle access gate. New guests are requested to advise of their approximate arrival time so that the vehicle access gate can be opened prior to their arrival.
Our holiday apartment has the following amenities:
a) Fully equipped kitchen with cook top, oven, sink, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, electric jug, crockery, cutlery, glasses & utensils. We also supply extras such as paper towels, foil, cling wrap, dish soap and initial supplies of tea, coffee, sugar, milk & some spices.
b) The laundry has a front load washing machine, dryer and sink. Iron and board also available. Cleaning equipment.
c) The bathroom has a good size shower, toilet, basin and separate storage cupboard together with hair dryer.
d) The reverse cycle air conditioned lounge/dining area has a twin seat double reclining leather lounge, 50 inch HD TV, CD/DVD player, quantity of DVDs magazines & books, neat of tables, bookshelf and extendable dining table for two.
e) The separate reverse cycle air conditioned bedroom has queen pillow top ensemble bed complete with linen & pillows, bedside tables & bedside lamps.
f) The large front deck has beautiful ocean views and has two sun lounges, an outdoor setting for two and a gas fired BBQ. Two beach chairs and beach towels are also available.
g) There is a lock up garage for the exclusive use of guests and there is some parking space available for visitors at the rear of the property.
h) Secure free Wi Fi is available.

Attractions: The Gold Coast is the theme park capital and premier holiday destination in Australia. Guests can partake of a wide range of leisure activities such a surfing, fishing, boating, golfing, hiking, cycling, snorkeling, wind surfing, walking, sight seeing, whale watching, scenic drives, shopping, horse riding etc.
Guests have access to their apartment and entry, garage, covered deck and the garden adjacent to their deck.
Interaction with guests
We live on the premises in the top apartment and will be present on arrival and exit and give them any information and help that they may need.
Other things to note
Security Gates open outwards so do not park close to gates. Guests should supply arrival time so that gates can be opened in advance.
HOLIDAY RENTAL RULES- 1/8 BARKER STREET, CURRUMBIN.
1 General requirements
a) Guest and Visitors must comply with all House Rules, By-Laws and instructions from the
Manager and security services during their stay; and
b) Guests must notify the Manager of any disputes or complaints from neighbours as soon as is practicable.
2 Noise and residential amenity
a) Guests and Visitors must not create noise which is offensive to occupiers of neighbouring
properties especially between 10pm - 8am and during arrival and departure at any time
throughout the occupancy;
b) Offensive noise is prohibited and may result in termination of permission to occupy the
Property, eviction, loss of rental paid and extra charges for security and other expenses
which may be deducted from Security Deposit or Bond under the Terms and Conditions;
c) Guests and Visitors must not engage in anti-social behaviour and must minimise their
impact upon the residential amenity of neighbours and local community.
a) The property is suitable for a maximum of 2 guests only.
b) Guests must be over 21 years of age.
c) The property is not suitable for wheel chairs.

a) Guests are responsible for ensuring the limits set on Visitor numbers is complied with at all times; and
b) Guests are responsible for ensuring that Visitors comply with these House Rules.
5 Gatherings or functions
a) The Property is not a “party house” and any such activities are strictly prohibited; and
b) Any gathering, celebration or entertainment permitted at a Property must not conflict with
residential amenity and must comply with all the other requirements.
a) This property is a no smoking property.
b) Smoking is not permitted indoors or outdoors.
a) Guests provide their own meals.
a) Guests and Visitors are to comply with parking regulations and other requirements set out
below and show consideration to neighbours and other vehicles; and
b) Parking arrangements at the Property are as follows:
1. Parking is NOT permitted in Barker Street.
2. Guest parking is available in the lockable garage provided.
3. Off street visitor parking is available at the rear of the property. Visitors are requested to park in the marked bays.
9 Garbage and recycling
a) Guests and Visitors are to dispose of garbage and recycling in accordance with the usual
practice at the Property (as set out below) in the allocated bins, and excess rubbish must
not be left in public or common areas; and
b) Garbage and recycling arrangements at the Property are as follows:
The rubbish and recycle bins are located at the front of the property at street level and are branded with the number 8. The bins for general rubbish have green lids and bins for recycled rubbish have yellow lids. Guests are requested to ensure that the appropriate rubbish goes into the appropriate bins.
c) Rubbish is usually collected by council contractors every Thursday morning between 6.30am and 7.00 am.
a) Whenever you are absent from the Property, close all windows and doors to maintain security and prevent rain and water damage. Guests and visitors are responsible for the security of their own property.
b) Security gates on driveway are to be kept closed at all times when access not required. Please note that gates open outwards.
c). The property has excellent security with recorded CCTV cameras at all access points .
11 Deck and balcony areas
a) A large covered balcony is available for the exclusive use of guests.
b) An outdoor setting and 2 chairs together with a gas fired BBQ and 2 sun lounges have been provided for guest use. Two beach chairs and beach towels are also available.
12 Linen & towels
a) Linen, towels and beach towels are provided.
b) The apartment is not serviced. Cleanliness and tidiness of the apartment is the responsibility of the guests.
c) A change of linen and towels is supplied on a weekly basis for those guests staying in excess of a week.
Pets are not permitted.
a) A gas BBQ is available for guest use.
b) Guests must read and understand the written instructions and safety procedures before operating the BBQ.
c) After use, guests must clean the BBQ.
15 Damages and breakages
a) Damages and breakages must be reported to the Manager.
16 Naked flames
a) Lighted candles or naked flames are strictly not permitted.
a) Check in Time: After 2.00pm. By arrangement, so that security gate on driveway can be opened in advance.
b) Check out time: 10.00am.
18 Wi Fi
a) Free WiFi is available for guests to download their emails etc. It is not available for downloading movies etc. Contact Allan or Susie for the password.
a) Brochures for numerous attractions available on the Gold Coast are available in a separate booklet in the apartment.
20 Restaurants, cafes & take aways.
a) Menus for nearby restaurants, cafes and take aways are available in a separate booklet in the apartment.
a) A CD/DVD player is available in the apartment together with a few DVDs.
b) Additional DVD can be obtained from Susan or Allan.
22. Outside shower and hose point.
a) An outside shower and hose point are available for use by guests to enable them to wash off beach sand and salt after visiting the beach.
b) The water supply at the outside shower and hose point is tank water and only suitable hosing and garden irrigation. It is not suitable for drinking.
c) Please ensure that the outside shower and hose point are properly turned off after use.
23 On departure arrangements
a) Please ensure that the keys , including the gate and garage access controls are left with the manager or are left on the kitchen bench with the unit door closed.
b) If the keys are taken by accident please return them as soon as possible.
c) Ensure that all windows and doors are locked and all appliances except the fridge are turned off.
d) Ensure all crockery and cutlery are clean and stored appropriately.
e) Ensure that all rubbish has been disposed of appropriately.

We have holidayed in many apartments and the amenities we seek are a comfortable bed, comfortable seating , large TV and free wifi. So we have made sure that our apartment has a reclining leather sofa, Queen size pillow top ensemble , a 50 inch HD TV and free wifi.
We are retired business people. Allan was an engineer and Susie is an artist with her studio on site and some of the art is displayed in the apartment.
