Olala, can't ask for better place! Our big wouaw was when visiting the huge garden and discovering the view, I won't say more to keep the surprise when you'll go there: simply breathtaking! The Starboard room is spacious, with extensive views of the garden and sea; has its own bathroom; even though you have other guests or David & John around, you will have your privacy. Talking about the hosts they are so amazing: very flexible and relaxed. They totally open their house to you: you will have fresh and home grown eggs, veggies and fruits anytime you want! Not mentioning the hoise itself which is super well decorated with NZ arts all around... The location, Port Robinson really worth the stop: huge black sand beaches with cliffs all around. Very nice walks to do and very peaceful. Our favorite stay over our 3 weeks South island trip!!

Wow- what a stay! The house, the property, the view, the hospitality- all second to none. David had the fire roaring for us upon arrival , and came over to welcome us once we were settled. He brought over some food as well which was a nice gesture, and very tasty. The house is very private, I would highly recommend for couples! Extremely good get away, definitely great value for money. Overall, I would 100% recommend this place to others. Simply stunning, and a very freindly host. 10/10

I am semi-retired now after a full life in the Film Industry as Production Designer. I am outgoing and sociable and have led a very busy life. After a very full 7 years in Auckland I decided to return to the South Island and build a new life in the area I was brought up.
I like quality and have only things that are well made and designed around me. All the artworks in the home are original New Zealand artworks and top quality mid- 20th century furniture in the home.
When you stay here with us we leave you alone to discover your new environment, we are here to help but not to bother you. We live in a separate home just next door so anything you require is just a phone call away or text message. We grow all our own foods and our free range chooks lay the best eggs for your breakfast !
The home has a great selection of DVDs and music and a good sound system too !!
