HOUSE OF CHARACTER XVIII-XIX with barn and garden in the heart of a pretty village bordered by the river and the Burgundy Canal. Charm & simplicity, fireplace & pigments, stones and wooden girders...
A simple and easy to live house. Even without a car (truck grocery/bakery/butcher as in the old times). Bike rental and delivery possible at Montbard TO... A haven full of charm 1 hour from Paris by TGV. Ideal for families: river, canoe, aquatic center 15mn, playground (swing&picnic)
"I like the alliance of charm and simplicity that makes this house a perfect place to feel quiet in the garden at the heart the village, or visit the area - quite rich in historical sites- or even take a trip to Paris - 1 hour by TGV from Montbard or 2h TER!
The house is at the very heart of a small village : Cry/Armançon. A charming place, surrounded by fields and forests, cows and sheep, with a lovely river, a bridge of the sixteenth century, a church and its crypt of the eleventh, an area to play and picnic.
And starring at 200m : the BURGUNDY CANAL. Ideal for cycling - with your own bikes or rented ones via the Tourist Information.
Some hosts even chose to come by train, take a taxi and have the bikes delivered at the village. The shopping for food? In the villages around by bike, or simply waiting for the different deliveries... at home : baker, butcher and grocery!
The house can comfortably accommodate 6 people with its 3 bedrooms, one living room and a large kitchen (total 115m2), and a 200m2 garden. It is a practical house with lots of charm, for those not seeking luxury.
LOCATION week from Saturday to Saturday , unless otherwise agreed.
1- In ground-garden: 1 bedroom with sink and bed 140, barn and outbuildings.
2 - On the main level:
large kitchen (gas, freezer, conventional oven, dishwasher), living room with fireplace, bathroom with tub and toilet.
3- On the upper floor, two bedrooms:
- Room 1 with 160cm bed + twin trundle beds of 90cm.
- Bedroom 1 double bed 140 + 90 + child bed with low edge.
HIGHLIGHTS of the house are in my opinion:
- CHARM AND SIMPLICITY - in style and decoration.
- THE GARDEN - giving a sense of "being at home" while being in the village; ideal for barbecues and lounge chair, or simply to leave bicycles ...
- EASY LIVING: proximity to 2 train stations (TER 5mn and TGV 15mn), grocery stores or markets (5mn or 15mn by car), fresh bread daily delivery at the village, grocery delivery twice a week, and quality butcher delivery once a weak...!
RAPID refreshing or heating of the house, simply by pressing a button (heat pump).
BAR-RESTAURANT facing the house for lunch or take away dishes to eat in the garden...
The weak points are in my opinion: one bathroom with toilets inside.
Concerning the "TECHNOLOGY", it is a house without TV or microwave...
For internet, you must have a 3G key or go to the cafe facing the house (open every day). For more info, just ask us.
This old house also has a special feature in the two upstairs bedrooms, the floor "sings" a little under the feet. This is not the case of the room on the ground floor.
Also, the church bells may wake you up in the morning! The Angelus is at 7 am... It's a charm too ... Sometimes, people don't even notice it...! "
The house is accessible except 3 rooms, on the ground floor. The barn is open too, but it is asked not to play ball in it, and it is strictly prohibited to climb the heights of the barn.

It would be a very uncomfortable situation for everyone. An effective 2 hour housekeeping is sufficient. Otherwise, a little more ...

We really appreciate that our guests feel comfortable in a pleasant, simple and practical environment - with its beauty ... and its weaknesses too. We do everything so you to can enjoy a "carefree" stay, with equipments that work, and a clean and not smoking house.
From our side, we like our guests to be careful too. Respect of the place, the tranquility of our neighbors, antique furniture, plants and objects... For us it is a real little "savoir vivre".
From both elders and youngest.
The damage can justify the partial refund of the deposit.
ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE
We try to be flexible as much as we can. Schedules will be defined with you at the booking or a few days before your arrival.
We thank our guests for removing their shoes in the bedrooms.
The house is non smoking but the garden welcomes the smokers - with their ashtray!
The regularity of garbage removal or absence of cigarette ends in the garden are nice marks of care of the house, to us ...
Of course, incidents can happen and we are grateful if you can report them at your departure.
We unfortunately do not welcome pets, even small ones.
SECURITY AND FRAGILITY
There are some fragile items, mentioned in the manual of the house.
In this manual, there will be security issues, and we would like you take the time to read it. Chimney fires and access to the floor of the barn via ladder are not allowed for security reasons. Barbecues are possible in the garden (coal not provided).
Unless otherwise agreed, we don't charge for the cleaning and ask our guests to restore the house to its initial cleanliness and arrangement.
