We loved staying at Suzanne's little Big Island paradise. The cottage is lovely. It's super clean and tidy and has everything you could need for your stay. It is tucked away in the jungle just far enough to get away from the masses of tourists, but close enough to explore much of what the Big Island has to offer. Suzanne has loads of knowledge on the area and provided loads of tips on where to adventure to. She also loves her gardening and took us on an impressive tour of the garden - so much fruit and superfoods! Overall a very excellent stay and we would definitely stay again if/when we are back on the Big Island! Thanks Suzanne :)

We truly loved staying in the cottage! The place is absolutely beautiful! A tiny piece of paradise! It was the perfect get away from the city that we needed. There is a lot to do in the area as well. It is close to some great snorkeling, and beautiful black sand beaches.

We stayed three nights. Wonderful in every way. If one is looking for a secluded and romantic get away on the south shore, we highly recommend! Everything was as advertised and more. Geckos kept us company. WiFi excellent.

A charming cottage that has both a rustic and boutique charm to it. We stayed three nights and Suzanne the owner was very helpful in helping us get a feel for the area. The cabins wood work is nicely done, the bed is comfortable, and having the outdoor shower is a really great feature. At first my wife was not happy about having to go outside, but when we departed she commented how much she enjoyed it and was going to miss it. One thing that we were not aware of is that the geckos are able to get inside the cabin. When we first walked into the cottage it was at night and there were several of the little green guys around the light. At first this freaked my wife out, but after awhile she liked the little guys. The only thing you need to Keep in mind is that if you leave food out they will get into it. We prepared fruit and left it on the counter while we went for a swim and when we returned, you guessed it the little guys were feasting on our breakfast. The location is great, uncle Roberts on Wednesday was very enjoyable, it was nice to meet and interact with some of the local people. We rode electric bikes to the lavas edge as it pours into the sea. We took a lava Helicopter tour with Paradise Helicopters and they did a fantastic job and the experience was unreal!!! We left with many great memories and we were both happy that we spent time in this area and in this cottage. We would conf back and stay here again.

Suzanne's place looked nice online when me and my boyfriend were searching through air bnb, but we were completely unprepared for how beautiful her place was when we arrived in person. Pulling up to her place, we were greeted by an incredible garden surrounding her beautiful bamboo and teak cottage. Before even going inside, we spent at least 20 minutes looking at all the different exotic flowers and fruit trees, and Suzanne greeted us with two delicious dragon fruits for us to eat. The inside of the cottage was so tasteful and beautifully decorated, and the outdoor shower was amazing after coming back from snorkeling at the tide pools nearby (which is a must to add to your to-do list!) The kitchen was stocked with all the essentials we needed to cook, and she even provided extra things like bug spray and snorkeling gear. We saw colorful geckos all around the house during our stay, and it was so peaceful to just sit in the garden and look out into the jungle surrounding the space. Suzanne was knowledgable about all the spots to eat and hangout near her place. Down the road was a beautiful black sand beach with an amazing drum circle gathering on Sundays from 12-5pm, and a just a few miles further was a kitchen/farmer's market area that had delicious food and a chill environment to get a drink. There's also a newly formed lava field that led to the ocean. Everywhere we went we met friendly people who were warm and welcoming. Would without a doubt recommend this place to anyone looking to see Hawaii.

Suzanne User ProfileSuzanne is a superhost.

I've worked in the Hawaii hospitality industry serving guests with aloha for the last 25 years. I also enjoy gardening and creating beautiful outdoor spaces. Some guests tell me the grounds look like a tropical botanical park. Hosting a vacation rental gives me the opportunity to combine my talents in creating rewarding and rich experiences for my guests and myself.

My objective in building the cottage was to create an ambience of old Hawaii, with a sense of timelessness for ultimate relaxation and peace.
