The location is perfect and the apartment is spacious. Our group of 5 stayed here for 6 nights for a conference in ULN and Duk couldn't be more accommodating. Value-wise, and comparing it to hotel options and rates - there's still room for improvement (especially for guests who will be staying here for multiple nights) - but I'm sure Duk and his team are proactive enough to improve on them. My suggestions would include regular changing of towels and regular cleaning of the place as well as putting in some glassware, some utensils and maybe basic cooking equipment in the kitchen. Overall, it was a great stay.

Duk was an awesome host and like a next door neighbor (well, he does live next door!). He was quick to respond on text, email and phone and was always willing to help with requests - from providing our driver with directions to lending us some of his kitchen specials. The flat is large and well lit and is incredibly convenient for central UB, the sights, shopping and restaurants. (Easy to find - "The tall green building behind the Tushin Best Western" was something recognized by all taxi drivers. We'll be recommending Duk to our friends.

Duk let the three of us check in ridiculously early on our first day, which was wonderful after riding a 7-hour night train from Darkhan. He met us at the door, gave us a quick tour and a key. We felt very welcomed and welcome to contact him further but didn't really need to. He checked on us via text, which we appreciated. The entrance to the large apartment building is off the street and around back. Access doors to the building were always open, and there was just about always a security guard at the desk in the lobby. The flat is on a high floor, and the two elevators were reasonably fast. We tended to take the elevators up and stairs down just to get the blood flowing. It was a tad too hot to do it the other way around. :) The door to the flat opens onto a rectangular entry area with doors to each bathroom and bedroom. There's an armoire in there we didn't use but would be handy for jackets in cold weather. You walk straight past all that and through a doorway to access the large living space: kitchen, big island with lots of counter space, living/TV area, dining area. That's all one big, open, roomy space. There's a small balcony off the kitchen we didn't really check out. Windows face east and south. Best thing: we loved the location and walked walked walked. The apartment is on "Prime Minister A. Amar Street", which runs from Sukbaatar Square (AKA Chinggis Square) east to the big sporting center building. Nearby are a large grocery store called Orgil, a post office and a cafe/lounge quite called Doubleshot. Taxi drivers didn't seem to know how to find us if we said to pick up or drop off at Hotel Nine or Doubleshot; next time we'd try telling them to take us to the Urgoo Theater (a cinema which is almost immediately behind the apartment building) or to the Best Western Premier/Tuushin Hotel which is just down the street. Second best thing: the place is *very* roomy, safe, has a nice feel, is very open and airy. There are nice city views when the weather is clear (it was for us). Couch is big, and there's an oversized, rocking easy chair. Bedrooms: queen size-ish bed in our bedroom. There's also an armoire, a chair, and one bedside table with power outlet nearby to charge devices. Window opened wide to bring fresh air. Mattress and pillow were OK; we really appreciated the blackout curtains since we were there on the summer solstice and it was very light outside crazy early and crazy late. The other bedroom has two twin beds and its own balcony, seemed to work fine for our daughter. Bathrooms: he provided a bath towel and hand towel for each of us. Water pressure and cleanliness factor were good. Hot water is piped in from the city's centralized, massive plant and apparently is offline a lot...

The perfect location in central Ulaan Baatar, an incredibly spacious and comfortable apartment. We were impressed by Duk's attention to details (extra toilet paper and new bottles of shampoo!). We would definitely recommend staying there without any doubt!

I couldn't write a more positive review of my stay at Duk's apt in Ulaanbaatan. The apartment was absolutely perfect. Clean spacious incredibly well position for getting around the city. Don't underestimate the value of the location of this apartment. Getting around UB can be difficult and this apartment is located very centrally so that most of the city is easily accessible by foot. If you're looking for a place to stay in UB, especially if it's a party of three or more people, I couldn't recommend this apartment anymore positively. Thanks Duk you are a perfect host. Mike

Staying at Duk's apartment has been a very positive experience. Duk is an excellent communicator and host. He responded promptly to my emails prior to booking the apartment and was at the apartment to welcome me, show me around and to make sure I was comfortable. He also helped to arrange an airport transfer for my friends who arrived a few days later. The apartment is spacious, very clean and has all amenities for a very comfortable short or long term stay. Mid week, the towels and sheet were changed. The apartment is in a great location, a few minutes walk to Sukhbaatar Square. Plenty of restaurants and grocery stores are all within a short walking distance. Duk has very recently opened a restaurant adjacent to the the apartment building. Excellent food in a great setting for a very reasonable price. All in all, we very much enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Duk's apartment.

Duk's a great host, he kept in touch leading up to and during my stay and was on hand when I had any questions. I was traveling with two female friends and being such a large apartment we had loads of room, we felt very secure in this 24hr monitored building. It's great for a long or short stay in UB. Chingis Khaan Square is less than a 5 minute walk away and loads of restaurants and shops are also nearby. We had a fabulous time in UB and Duk's apartment was the icing on the cake.
