Come and stay with us, in our large, ground floor room. Spacious, with vintage features and a real fire, a firm double bed & 2 single fold out chair beds.
Newly installed large rainfall shower, and new toilet. Shared family kitchen, & use of the ground floor sitting room. With our friendly family & large garden you'll feel very welcome and right at home.
Our house is one of the few remaining houses in the area that is not divided into flats. It has plenty of character, with original features and lots of our own personality stamped on top. We have been here since 1998 renovating, doing a lot of the work ourselves and there are still a few bits left to do; so if you like shiny, modern, angular, spotlessly clean spaces, please find somewhere else!!
There is a large garden, with a barbeque, patio table, lawn, lots of trees, and even a hawaiian bar and..... a tardis.
There is off-street parking for those guests who are bringing a car. We also have indoor bicycle parking space should you want to come by bike.
You will have access to your own lockable room on the ground floor, no trouble to get to with lots of baggage! The new shower and toilet is on the first landing, and in addition there is a downstairs toilet with a washing machine. The kitchen and family room are also available for you to use and you are free to cook and just hang out with us there.
Tea, coffee, cereal and toast are included in the price.
The large garden is also available for guests to enjoy.
Interaction with guests
We are a busy, large family with three kids, and five adults in the house.
Tom is a fully fledged Scouser with loads of enthusiasm and knowledge about Liverpool. Should you need any help, advice or suggestions about what to do while you are here, he will be glad to pitch in!
We also have a massive collection of books about Liverpool and lots of maps to help you plan your time here.
Other things to note
The room has one double bed and one double sofa bed. 2 extra guests can fit in the room using the double sofa bed. We also have a travel cot for babies if required.
Please note we always clean before we have guests to stay but this is a large, old, Victorian house, and as such, will always have the odd dusty corner! Remember as this is an Airbnb room, there is no daily room service; bed-making and tidying is your responsibility for the duration of your stay. Bed-linen and towels will, however, be changed after 7 nights for longer stays.
Late check-in after 9pm is possible by special arrangement and may incur an extra charge of £10. Checkout before 12 noon.
We expect visitors to be respectful of our house, tidy up after themselves, and not smoke indoors.
Please be reasonably quiet in the evening after the children are in bed.
We try to be 'green' in our house so we expect our guests to use the recycling facilities, be reasonably economical with water and electricity, and to make sure they know where to buy local and get involved in some real local Liverpool culture while they are here.
The real fire is there to be used and you are welcome to join in with the wood chopping, if you want to!
Guests can have visitors in the daytime and evening but not overnight, without prior agreement.
Any food eaten in room must be cleared away after eating, and cooking equipment, plates etc must be washed up after use. Windows to be closed and locked when away from the house.
A slightly eccentric couple, immersed in local culture. Between us we have very diverse interests - Tom is the philosopher, loving theatre, music, comics, campaigning. Kate is the practical one, loving to be creative, constructive, read, organise, plan, and generally ensure the house ticks along.
We have travelled a lot, and love staying in backpackers hostels although this happens less now we have the kids in tow. We really enjoy having people to stay and have hosted lots of visits in our time in this house.
We are both very passionate about Liverpool and what it has to offer and really try to do our best to ensure our guests get the most out of their visit.
