Come visit a truly comfortable home in the Sierra foothill. Family and friends can gather all seasons, exploring nature. Clean, spacious, 3 bedroom, 2 bath home that sleeps up to 10 people.
Our cabin is a clean, spacious, and comfortable. Three bedroom, 2 bath that sleeps up to 10 people. The house is at a cul de sac with complete privacy. Two wood burning stoves provide a warm and cozy winter living lifestyle. Our kitchen is fully equipped. Comfortable seatings are available in the front and back patios. We provide clean linen, towels and all the comfort that you find living at home.
Our home is located along Scenic State Highway 88 in Pioneer CA, between the town of Jackson and Kirkwood Meadows Ski Resort.
The home is at 3200 ft. elevation. We can get up to a foot and a half of snow, but at this elevation it's rare, and any snow melts in a
day or two. All of the roads East of San Francisco to the house are always open.
Snow lovers can head East on 88 to higher elevations to find snow, snow parks, snowmobile adventure, and a ski area. Folks who enjoy quaint towns with art or antique stores can head West to the Main Streets of Jackson, Volcano, or Sutter Creek. Hiking lovers can stop at the El Dorado Forest Ranger Station nearby to get all the trail maps and related information.
Other points of interest include:
Black Chasm Caverns, Volcano old town, Bear River Reservoir, Mace Meadows Golf Course, Tiger Creek Recreation Area, El Dorado National Forest, Jackson Rancheria Casino, Silver Lake, Carson Pass, Mokelumne Wilderness, South Lake Tahoe (90+ minute drive), Shenandoah Valley Wineries (50+ minute drive), Fairplay Rd winerries, and Daffodil Hill.
Interaction with guests
We will not be present during your stay. However, our nearby caretakers are friendly and helpful at anytime.
Other things to note
Our main heating source is 2 wood burning fireplaces. We provide firewood with instructions how to use our fireplaces. You will need to be comfortable with keeping wood burning fireplaces going.
We also have heaters. However, fireplaces are essential to keep warm in winter time.
Kick back and enjoy your stay.
Smoking is okay outside the house. Please be extra careful when smoking outside. The area is in high real fire hazard country. Thank you.
Sorry, no pets. We have too much carpeting to maintain a very clean house for all guests.
Please load dirty dishes into the dishwasher before you leave.
Large kitchen items, pots and pans need to be washed separately and put away.

My husband and I spend our time between South Kona and the Sierra foothill in northern California. We enjoy our homes and we'd like to share a piece of paradise with visitors who appreciate nature. We want you to experience the Aloha all over the island. We also hope you enjoy exploring off the beaten paths as much as we do when you stay at our homes either on the island or in the Sierra.
