Treat yourself to a peaceful and beautiful stay at "The Bird's Nest." Here, you will go to bed watching the moon set and wake up to the sunrise and the birds. Make yourself a coffee or tea and sit on the deck overlooking Cayuga Lake, watch the ospreys or head down to the dock to kayak or paddleboard and enjoy the lake. The Black Diamond Trail is right behind the loft, and it's only 3 miles from downtown Ithaca, 8 miles to Taughannock Falls. EV charging Tier 2 available.

The space
This is a private loft right on Cayuga Lake for individuals who appreciate artsy interiors and nature that inspires. This space is about 800 square feet and it includes a front deck and back patio. The loft is attached to our main home but it has its own private entrance. It is located in a quiet community, so if you are looking for a place to party, this is not the right location.

The loft does not have a full kitchen, but it includes a fridge, a microwave, a toaster, French Press and Kuerig, a single portable electric stovetop, a pot and pan and dishes, a smart tv and a computer as well as games for those rainy days. The place also has its own separate water heater, AC and heat. There is one queen size bed and a full size couch (on the firmer side) that can serve as an additional bed.

Take just a few steps down (well, actually three flights down :), and you will find yourself directly on the large dock. You can swim (no diving please), and use the kayaks and paddleboard, but life jackets (provided) are required under all circumstances (it's the law). Use of lake and lake toys at your own risk.

The loft looks right out onto Cayuga Lake and onto a nest upon which we are trying to attract local ospreys. We've had a few eagles and osprey already check out the place, and it was an amazing sight! And no matter the season, the view is breathtaking and peaceful. Sometime we even have geese visit us!

This space is part of our home, and we take care it as our home (and we hope our guests will too). It includes some personal items and many art pieces for our guests to enjoy and feel at home. The loft is very cozy, artsy, warm and welcoming. LGBTQ friendly.
