The home was absolutely lovely! It was so nice to stay in a historic home and feel like a Charlestonian for a week! Only a short drive to historic Charleston and great shopping. We enjoyed strolling our grand baby just a few short blocks to Colonial lake. So sweet and peaceful. We will definitely come back!

The apartment is fantastic, in historic Charleston and close to all of the amenities downtown. We were always able to find parking (be sure to use the passes Barbara provides), and we were able to both drive and walk to nearby restaurants, parks, and shops. In addition, Barbara is a very gracious and accommodating host. We were traveling with our young son and asked her if we could arrange for a crib and high chair to be dropped off from a rental company. Within a half-hour, she wrote back to say that she had purchased a pack-and-play and high chair for the rental and they would be available for us when we arrived.

Fantastic rental. Barbara communicated promptly and clearly and answered our questions. The pictures are accurate. Large and very comfortable, with lots of mirrors! The location is great. It is a very quiet street and we were able to park in front of the apartment or the building next door every time (weekdays and weekends). Some other reviews noted upstairs noise but I only heard noise in the living room and it was no louder than any other apartment I have been in. We walk a lot and were easily able to get to the dining areas, about 30 to 45 minute walk to the market/East Bay Street. Good for an after dinner walk home. [Note: highly recommend making reservations to any restaurant before you go.] We also took an Uber at times - that was $5-$6 from the apartment to the Market or Charleston Visitor's Center. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking (we cooked several meals), however, you need to drive to the nearest large supermarket. The closest bar we went to was Salty Mike's on the water (5-10 min walk). Large patio with view for drinks but otherwise kind of a dive bar. Only issues would be that the front steps are a bit tricky for those with mobility issues and the exterior doors are, well, old. I would definitely rent again if in Charleston and recommend to any of my friends.

We loved this house and it's location. Actually larger than it appears in photos. And really enjoyed the lovely front porch.

This is a very pretty and comfortable apartment/house. Lovely street two blocks from city marina and about 30 minutes to walk tô most restaurants and shopping. Walking is great way to see the beautiful homes and gardens and walk off the delicious food.

My husband and I are retired and love to travel the world. When we travel we rent our home in downtown Charleston so that others can enjoy their travels to Charleston in the comfort of a home, as we do in other cities when we travel. My favorite quote is from St. Augustine who said: "The World is a Book and those who do not travel read but one page". We welcome you to our home in Charleston and to opening the book to a new chapter.
