The historic methodist church building is central to many Maine activities & sights, both coastal & inland. The town itself is quiet, although many great options abound within a 10-20 min radius.

The apartment nestled in the backside of the building. It is recently renovated with cathedral wood ceilings. It would be nice for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets). Entry is via keypad, so you can arrive as late as you'd like. ASL Friendly

The space

This newly renovated 2 bedroom home is located in a historic church building, nestled in the backside of the 1850's structure. Full amenities including a kitchen stocked with plates, pans, the basics for cooking, locally roasted coffee and locally blended teas. This would be a great rental for a weekend, a week or longer. Fully furnished with books, games, and even toys for any kids that might tag along!

Winterport is a very small town, it's nice to walk around in, however there are only two restaurants, one of them is only open Wed-Sun. You can walk along the town's sidewalks, view the river, visit local farms, go for a hike, or check out the local blueberry fields. We are not a bustling metropolis, but a convenient base to explore Bangor, Belfast, Bucksport and the DownEast and Acadia areas.

There is a TV with HDMI hookup and a blue ray/DVD player (no cable) and wifi access.

Please note, the toilet and sink are in one room, while the shower is in another. We think of this as a convenience for our guests, especially larger groups, however, some may not agree. We simply want our guests to be aware of the arrangement before booking.

Guest access

Full access to the entire home, which is nestled in the backside of the building. 2 bedrooms, kitchen, dining area, living room. 2 bathrooms- one with toilet and sink and the other with a shower. This home is air bnb only, you will have the whole place to yourselves!

There is a TV with HDMI hookup and a blue ray/DVD player (no cable) and wifi access.

Interaction with guests

I can meet you at check-in and check-out, or leave you be if solitude is your choice. In general, I do not meet guests and may not even be in town during your stay. The door is a keypad entry, so you can come early or late, as long as that works with other guests.

We have an ASL signing team member who lives less than a mile away, for our deaf friends.

Other things to note

The address is 176 Main Street (Route 1A) in Winterport, ME 04496. (Airbnb's system for some reason doesn't recognize it.) The driveway to the apartment is off of Kaler Street, turn onto Kaler, it's first driveway on your left. Bright green chairs are on the platform leading to the door.

As noted above, Winterport is a quiet town. It's a great middle point to many places in Maine, but you won't find a rocking nightlife here.

The cutest place in Winterport! Everything about this house was so great, the kitchen had coffee & the bathroom had soap. Heaters and fans in the bedrooms (I have to sleep with a fan so this was lovely) and Katrina & others were quick to respond and help when needed! Will book again & again!

A very comfortable place to stay in a peaceful, historic little river town. In October the autumn colors are amazing. Pro tip: pack mosquito repellent between May and November.

Response from Katrina:
Hi Liz! Thanks for staying. We are glad you enjoyed it. Normally we don't have mosquitos in October, that is a great tip!

It's a funky, artistic community, and we ate all our meals at The Bacon Tree which has the most awesome food in the region--I saw the same guy there twice, and he drives from Belfast to eat there. Big TV with Netflix which I binge watch on vacation. Really enjoyed Fort Knox observation tower!

Love hosting others and ensuring they have a good time. Our town is small, but has a lot to offer. We're located in a very central part of the state and I can't wait to show you all you can do within a 1/2 hour drive!!! The possibilities are endless.

I like to read, bike, hike, and spend as much time on or near the water as possible.
