This is place is paradise!
Set back from civilization but 25 minutes from Montego Bay and all its attractions. The morning mist is amazing and the evening in the bar there is always a nice atmosphere.

The space

A fully furnished cabin on the edge of the river. Can accommodate 1 person.
You definitely will experience precious time on this site.
example:
Sitting on your varrenda the morning, you will be dazzled by the mist.
In the evening you can enjoy a cocktail at the bar or Contemplating the campfire on the edge of the river. All day you can bathe and swim in the river. Meanwhile, in the kitchen, our cook will prepare your meals you have ordered in advance. Our typical Jamaican dishes will delight your taste buds.
The land is very large so you can always find a place to find yourself alone. Also, always on the ground, you can play dominoes, cards, with local residents, etc ...
At any time, if you want to leave the site, we will offer you our rates for transport.

Guest access

The entire site is available to visitors:
During business hours, you will be served as required (the service is available in your cabin)

Interaction with guests

We speak English and French. We can organise excursions to tourist attractions, basically we can adapt depending on your needs.

Unfortunately I did not get a chance to stay with Melissa as something came up. I still can't wait to meet her and her family as well as stay at one of the cabins on the river my next time back in jamaica. Melissa is a fantastic woman.

Wow. How can words truly express how wonderful this place is?? On arrival, Mélisse welcomed me with open arms and a warm embrace. It only got better from there. You immediately become a part of the family and the community, sharing stories, laughter, dance and fun. And all of this happened before I even got to my little cottage. So when I woke up the next morning to the view of the river, I knew I was definitely in the right place. If you're looking to see the real Jamaica, be embraced by the warm hearts of the locals, and feel at home, come to Mélissa's. I am already trying to find a way to go back! Thank you, Mélissa, for your hospitality, your love and the experience that you've created at the yellow bus. I will hold it close to me forever.

Melissa and her family made me feel so at home. They were all very sweet, fun, and welcoming. The cabin is very quaint and charming with the most beautiful scenery surrounding it. The sound of the river at night is better than any white noise machine you can buy. I slept soooo well. I look forward to visiting again!

It is a rare occurrence for both the spirit & body to find a space of renewal & rejuvenation. My experience at Cabin by the River facilitated by the exceptional hosting skills of Melissa provided just that. My body was nourished by her healthy meals, the peaceful sleep enabled by lullaby of the river, & the exercise provided by the nature walks through Eden Nature Farm. My spirit flourished in the breathtaking beauty of Eden's scenery & foliage and in the comraderie of the community that welcomed me with sincere smiles and open arms. For a Jamaican experience that replaces frills with friendship and the superficial with the super natural, I recommend Cabin by the River with Melissa.

Eden is a little piece of real JA. If you want or need something very different than the typical MoBay "hip-strip" live-in-a-bubble-type of trip, look no further. All you have to do is let Melissa just do her thing with kindness & authenticity & you will not only get a little taste of Jamaican realness, but also leavethere w/a big old smile! The people of Eden are cool as can be, the food healthy & delicious & the vibe will leave you feeling nice for longer than you think. Regretably, I only stayed down in Eden on the Great River (which in itself is a real treasure, the coolest & cleanest river you will see) for a short 10 days or so, but in all honesty I can say I miss the place & more so the people very very much. The only consolation is the feeling I left with which I imagine I will carry around for a good long while! Peace & Love everytime to the good people of Eden, St. James, Jamrock!! Big ups to Melissa's kids: super-bright & lovely NaNa & the little boy wonder dem call Messiah!!! 2015-1-Love

Also nochmals umgebucht.

I introduce myself, I am a mother of 2 wonderful children aged 14 and 9 years. I come from a family of artists, I do not need to tell you that music is everywhere in our lives. As soon as we arrived in Jamaica, we lived peacefully in a district which is called Eden where we rec…
