Enjoyed a lovely stay in this cosy little house. Nice and warm, walking distance to station and lovely coffee and hot chocolate in Jesse's Cafe. Thanks

Jesse was a very accommodating host even if he's busy with his cafe. He's easy to communicate with as he's fluent in both English and Japanese.

Our stay started badly as we were given instructions to the wrong house which already had guests in it. Arriving late at night this was a real problem. After some phone messages Jessie did arrange a taxi to the correct address. The house is small but neat and nice and we enjoyed our stay in Kyoto after the initial problems.

Place is definitely roomy enough for about 6 people. (2 small families, or 2 couples) Living room can be another sleeping area. Foyer and kitchen area can be drafty and cool during the Fall, but enough heat is provided in both bedrooms and living room. Sink in the bathroom is a bit on the teeny size to not leave a mess on the floor. Shower area is excellent. House is in an area of quaint alleys and requires a bit of walking to get too. Convenience stores all over. (7-11s and Family Mart for ATM withdrawals) It's a good idea to have a Japanese copy of the address in your wallet, as it is hard to describe the locale to a cab driver for a non-Japanese speaker. Overall, it's comfortable and competitively priced.

We had a super week here in this traditional Japanese house. We went to Jesse's cafe first, a short walk from Kyoto station, where he and his wife made us very welcome and served us drinks. As we had two small children and rather a lot of luggage, they took us to the house themselves. The house is about a 8-10 minute walk from the nearest station which is one stop from the main Kyoto station. It is in a quiet street, very clean with two good sized bedrooms upstairs (the stairs are very steep so we all had to be careful, especially our 3 year old). We would definitely stay here again, and recommend to others.

If you are looking for a PROPER Japanese experience, this is your place to stay! My husband and I live and Tokyo and on my parents visit to see us from South Africa, we decided to discover Hiroshima and Kyoto over a short weekend! Although the accommodation was a tight squeeze for my 2m tall husband, the experience was very memorable. I would recommend that anyone wanting to have a true Japanese experience on their travels stay in this charming, traditional house, you won't forget it

Pretty good, traditional Japanese style. Just the location is not easy to figure out.
