Bartul's house is a real joy. It is set in a quiet square, with a pleasant set of neighbours as the only other people around, and no cars coming past. The house is beautifully laid out, clean, an has everything you could need. Very comfortable beds, hot water and a good kitchen. However, that doesn't do justice to what you get if you stay at Donje Selo. First of all, Bartul was very good at communicating before the trip, and he arranged to meet us off the ferry, having arranged transport from the airport for us! He drove us to the house, pointing out shops, bank etc as we went. He then left the car for us to use all week, as part of the booking. Such a great idea, because it meant we could chug around all week and explore - amazing. When we first got to the house, he had stocked the fridge with milk, wine and beer, and there was a plate of bread, cheese and local meats laid out - so good after a hot journey. He also left us a local mobile phone to use for calls to book activities etc., and shared the wifi code. All so generous. So we spent the week exploring different beaches and eating at very good local restaurants. We had one day trip to Split, but came back with a sigh of relief! Added to all this, we were lucky enough to have the annual Klapa (Croatian acappella singing) competition in the village - fantastic. So, with Bartul you get hospitality at its very best, a rare find indeed. Thank you so much, Bartul.

If you want to visit Solta, a beautiful and preserved island just 45 minutes away from Split, Bartul's house is the place to be. The house is clean, it has been renovated and it is perfect for families. The village of Donje Selo is charming and typical. A very good choice if you like to join the locals and stay away from tourists. You can not see the sea from the windows, but it is quiet and Bartul's car allows you to reach any beach in five minutes. Bartul is a wonderful host, one of the most accomodating and warm people i have seen. His welcoming was amazing, he even had filled the fridge ! When we had questions, he was easy to join beacause he left a cell phone in that purpose. Don't hesitate if you want to go to Solat island, you won't regret it !

Bartul is an amazing host and probably one of the most serviceminded persons I have ever met. He arranged all transfers and pickups for us, we could just sit back and relax. And the house, in the old town of Donje Selo, is both cool and practical. Also, Solta is an amazing place. Beautiful nature, great food and wine, relaxing and cozy. We were super happy when we left and told each other that "this is probably the best vacation we have ever been on. That's the best very best judgement I can give!

We had the most wonderful stay with Bartel and his lovely wife Marrianne. They could not have done more for us or made us more welcome. The cottage is very pleasant, well decorated and very clean. The beds were very comfortable and the shower excellent - the best thing of all was the car which gave us complete independence. Neighbours were helpful but did not intrude in any way. We will definitely return. Thank you so much.

Bartul is a fantastic host and did everything in his power to make sure that we were comfortable from the very beginning when I first got in touch with him about renting his apartment, which made the whole process much simpler. He arranged taxi from airport and our 2 days stay in Split as we arrived with very late flight which was much appreciated, he met us at the ferry and gave us a tour of the surroundings, in the house itself he showed us everything, introduced to lovely neighbours. We also had a very late flight back home, Bartul without any hesitation offered us to stay in the house as long as we need and arranged our transfer to the harbour just on time to get ferry to the mainland. With Bartul's help everything worked as Swiss watch- no stress whatsoever. The house was spacious, spotlessly clean, well equipped and very comfortable - Bartul has thought of everything one might need for a self-catering holiday. A mobile phone and a car kindly provided by owner made our life on the island easier and gave us chance to explore this beautiful place. Bartul also generously provided lots of food and drinks when we arrived (special thank you for delicious olive oil). He made sure we could contact him easily if we had any questions or needed information and responded in no time. The apartment had been so well prepared that we did not have any problems. He does everything he can to ensure his visitors have a relaxed stay. This is the best rental property we have stayed in. About Solta, Donje selo can't be said enough : crystal clear water, pine woods, olive groves, green hills, not overcrowded. Real gem! Thank you again Bartul and Ivana for everything!

Bartul went above and beyond to get us set up at his beautiful home in Donja Selo. He waited patiently for us for several hours since we accidently caught a ferry to the wrong island. He was very gracious in getting us settled and oriented on Solta. He made sure we had everything we needed and even helped organize our transport to and from the airport. In addition he helped us rent bikes while we were there. The place itself was a lot larger than I was expecting. It was in a beautiful authentic neighborhood in Solta, surrounded by historic buildings. The setting was quite, peaceful and comfortable.

Bartul provided everything as described. He organised the taxi from airport to Split ferry terminal and met us off the ferry at the harbour on Solta. We arrived at the house during a local celebration and were made very welcome, greeted with food and drink. The neighbours were very friendly and welcoming. The house is a traditional house which has been recently renovated and is in excellent condition and suited us, a family of four. The car provided was a real bonus. Local shops were easy to reach from the house and everyone on the island was very friendly. Other places on the island were also very accessible. Bartul left us a mobile phone so we could easily contact him or his wife but left us completely to our own devices if we wanted. The island is beautiful and a great place to unwind. The free wifi in the house was good for keeping in touch. A favourite time was early evening to go down to the local port and have a drink watching the boats come in. We had a great time.
