Very well presented. Good proximity to town, shops, cafes and hot pools. All walking instance. Very comfortable and clean with great decor reflecting the era of the cottage. Three double bedrooms, good hot water system and adequate cooking facilities if required. Good information available and great for break in Te Aroha.

This is a delightful period cottage that combines old world charm with modern amenities. An excellent large tiled shower room with underfloor heating. A cozy gas powered fireplace with the appearance of a log fire without the mess. All the beds were comfortable. A great location close to the shops and the Domain. Donna was a welcoming and friendly host and obviously takes great pride in the presentation of her cottage. Would highly recommend to others and we would definitely love to book it again.

We had a great time in Te Aroha. The Goldminers Cottage is quaint and its location couldn't be better. We walked around the corner to the spa and to the restaurants, there is a fantastic view of Mt Aroha and it's very peaceful. Just be aware that if you are planning to spend lots of time in the house the kitchen/dining/living space is small and basic. Great size bedrooms and lovely shower room. Love the old photos.

Communication with Donna about our stay was OK , however we had a major misunderstanding about the price, which she quoted at $240 NZ but ended up at over $290NZ for one night. I had asked for a special offer but she declined to do this. Then we asked about a good place to leave our transported luggage as we were on a 3 day bicycle ride, and we didn't get a specific response how to arrange this. Then we asked if she could at least provide some wholemeal or wholegrain bread and she told us to provide our own. When we arrived there was white bread in the freezer, no milk , and very scanty provisions, not even butter. The shower was great but both handles fell off. The gas heater was good. Quite dusty in some areas. There is a large list of jobs that we were expected to do. Maybe a good place for overseas tourists because it is twee, but we were disappointed.

Response from Donna:
After running my holiday house for the last 2 years and having nothing but positive reviews I am quite bewildered with Vivs review. The amount Viv was quoted was correct, as she knows, Airbnb add fees so yes what she paid to Airbnb was more. In regard to leaving the bag I responded with 2 follow up emails offering to meet whomever was dropping off the bag, but I didn't receive a reply from Viv on either email. As this is a SELF CATERING holiday house as stated, the breakfast cereals, wholemeal breads (in the freezer), jams, spreads and butter (in the fridge) sugar, tea, milo, coffee, plunger and instant etc are totally complimentary. I advised Viv, that there is bread in the freezer, as it may not be the specific bread she asked for I suggested perhaps it might be easier to bring their own. I do not supply milk as everyone has different preferences and the supermarket is only 5 minute walk from the Cottage. Thank you for bringing to my attention the shower handles are loose, I will get them fixed. The lockbox is a straight forward combination lock and very common for holiday houses. The 'large list of jobs' is basic things to do when leaving a place just to jog your memory as it can be a rush at times,,, turning off lights, closing windows, removing rubbish etc, perhaps you should have read it and you might have remembered to turn off the electric blanket, close the windows and bolt the back door on your departure. Perhaps on your next adventure, a hotel might be better suited for your needs.

I live with my partner, Graham, on a dairy farm milking 260 cows, we also have chickens, ducks, budgies, finches and 1 cat. We have home grown beef, lamb and pork. So our bacon and eggs are straight off the farm! We have a very large garden with different areas to sit and listen…
