If you're looking for a remote, scenic tiny home, this is the place for you! Nestled on the top of a hill overlooking the lush nature reserve with ocean in two directions, this house is perfectly positioned for relaxation. It has a huge porch with a grill and multiple hammock options for lounging. The kitchen is pretty barebones (two burner stove, no oven) but we cooked many excellent meals nonetheless. And it has an outdoor shower! At night there is a cacophony of insects, making you feel truly like you're in nature. It is a bit difficult to get to without a car, since it's up a bunch of hills, but the walk to town is gorgeous if you like long walks. Finally, Charlotte was great, very communicative and helpful.

Charlottes place is NOT good for single travelers. I had a horrible experience, due to the construction and external renovations going on during my visit. 2 construction workers let themselves on to the property as I slept. As a solo female traveler this was a red flag for me. The house would've been lovely if it weren't for the intrusion and barking dogs. Charlotte was responsive and tried to fix the situation the first day but was not understanding of my skepticism to continue my 7 day stay. As a solo traveler I did not feel comfortable with 2 unknown men to know I was now alone in a place with minimal security and no cell signal. The place is also advertised as "quiet" no barking dogs, that is a lie. Sadly dogs kept me up all nights. 3 dogs continued to return to the property and lounge on the deck. Charlotte advised to "throw water, throw stones " lastly after my 6th text "windex them so they go away" I don't condone animal cruelty even against wild dogs. Though she was responsive to every text the tone of the responses became tense and sarcastic after the intrusion, as I wanted to cancel the rest of my stay. If there wouldn't have been construction. And I had been forewarned about the dogs, lack of cell service and the extent of the renovations it would have been a lovely place to decompress. Sadly my experience was not good and I wouldn't recommend this to anyone under the circumstances.

Response from Charlotte:
Sorry for the dogs never had a problem with them before I was there for 5 months never had a bark nor have any other guests ever had that complaint. Sorry about the construction too but I did forwarn and you said "no big deal" . Perhaps the isolation of the place not so good for a woman alone but it is advertised as being up on the wildlife boundary . Glad you found another spot.

Small, simple, but very, very beautiful in the middle of the nature. Very calm, the only noise came from the horses. Great view from the terrace. Great lazy time in the hammock. Terrace was unter construction, bit it did'nt annoy us. We had a great week!

This is a great place, Charlotte is a great host, and so is Bill. Come here and enjoy hummingbirds on the deck, overlooking paradise. The outdoor grill was great for the fresh fish we brought home, and it is homey!! We'll be back to this simple, lovely, uncomplicated, quiet slice of heaven.

Charlotte and her on-site assistant and friend Bill were fantastic about welcoming us to Vieques and offering assistance during our too-short stay. Bill met us promptly at the rental car agency, acquainted us with Villa Tessa Rosa and the island, and told us to call with any questions and concerns. He suggested sites to see and restaurants to visit. The villa is a delight. We didn't want to leave. It is relaxing and private. Serene. It is well-equipped and everything you could want for a semi-rustic getaway. Come grill, hang out in a hammock and enjoy the outdoor shower, wildlife and cool breezes. We will be back! Thanks for sharing your lovely hideaway Charlotte!

This house is perfect for you if youre looking for something off the beaten path! You definitely need to come with an adventurous spirit and open mind. The view was spectacular and made us feel like we were in a tree house:) it's a smaller fit, but it was just right for us, especially due to us being out and about exploring most of the time. We will be bavk to Vieques, that's for sure!

Charlotte was gone during our stay so we were hosted by Bill, who was very welcoming and extremely helpful. Charlotte's place was perfect for a no-thrills intimate getaway, we loved the views of the refuge and wild horses (despite the mosquitos :) ). I would definitely recommend a Jeep in general for the island as well as Charlotte's place. Everything was set perfectly for our stay and we definitely enjoyed getting used to the island life, especially the outdoor showers! Would definitely recommend to the airbnb community
