Come stay in this newly built, quaint cottage located in the heart of a boutique vineyard! Private studio w/queen bed, kitchenette, sitting room, bathroom, and outdoor area.

The space

Windmill Cottage is a cute studio cottage right in the center of our vineyard. Enjoy the views and immerse yourself in the vineyard lifestyle. Convenient to wineries, restaurants, and town, yet still rural and quaint!

** Note: the 10% CA Lodging tax is included in the listed nightly price **

This studio has a queen bed and accommodates 2 people easily. A 3rd person can sleep on the pull out couch for an additional fee. It has a nice separate bathroom. Hang out in the sitting area, or eat at the table. Includes a microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, Nespresso, refrigerator, & 1 burner hot plate. It even has a propane BBQ for cooking up goodies to complement your wine tastings!

Walk the vineyard and check out the amazing 360 degree views. We have a bocce ball court outside, and books and games in the cottage to keep you busy!

The property is a working vineyard containing 8 acres of mature Grenache and Mourvedre vines. All fruit from our vineyard is currently supplied to Tablas Creek for inclusion in their Patelin line and recently won Double Gold for the Grenache Rose. Tablas Creek was recently ranked #1 winery in the country.

We allow dogs as long as you are respectful of the property and other guests.

Please note that Hollyhock Vineyard is a working vineyard, and we are surrounded by farms. While the unit is thoroughly cleaned after each guest, unfortunately that does not always keep all the dust and bugs from getting in. It is also possible you might hear rural sounds such as tractors, pigs, goats, horses, cats, dogs, frogs, owls, bugs, and other animals during your stay. For these reasons, this property is not like staying at a hotel, but we hope this adds to the charm of vineyard living for our guests.

The property houses an original farm house and an additional cottage that are both listed on AirBnB. Feel free to book all three listings for a family or group getaway and have the whole vineyard to yourself!

Feel free to pick from the many fruit, olive, almond, and walnut trees on the property.

Interaction with guests

The home is self-service. Access info can be found in the House Manual section once your reservation is confirmed. A cleaning service comes in between guests to clean and refresh linens. Our stay at Julie and Bill's place was wonderful. The location in the vineyard was charming. The cottage is adorable and very comfortable. It was easy getting to/from Templeton and Paso Robles. We loved having the kitchenette. Everything was clean; the pictures on AirBNB accurately depict the cottage and the setting. The view of the sunset from up on the hill was the best!

My girlfriend and I fell in love with this place. We arrived at sunset, popped a bottle of wine and run up to the top of the hill. Mesmerising place! The best to get away from busy city life. The cottage is clean, and has everything one needs (small cooker though - but that's solved with BBQ outside and good restaurants around). Lovely place for a couple. Enjoy!

Very cute and cozy cottage. It was a quiet location so good for escaping the noise of the city. Quite a ways from SLO and most areas we wanted to visit but had a scenic view so it was nice.

Excellent location and Julie was very helpful as our booking was very last minute. Communication was excellent. The vineyard and surrounding farms are very peaceful and the vineyard cat that will greet you sometimes when you walk up the hill was a highlight! Our two night stay was very relaxing. Another guest was staying at another building on the grounds, but you would never have known (we saw a car drive up the long driveway one evening). Multiple coffee makers a huge plus. Kitchen appliances were adequate for our short stay. We would return in a heartbeat.... Many thanks.

Great studio in a beautiful farming/vineyard area. A few mi drive to Main St in Templeton, which has many yummy restaurants. Easy drive over to the coast.

Bill and Julie's cottage is the perfect couple's getaway. It is very conveniently situated very close to wineries, downtown Templeton, and Paso Robles. The bench at the top of the hill is so romantic at sunset. The cottage itself is very comfortable, clean, and had many amenities. We really loved our weekend here and hope to be back!

We had a great stay in the windmill cottage. It was a great base for going to the fair in Paso Robles. The vineyard is beautiful, we loved watching the sunset from the bench at the top of the hill. Would highly recommend McPhee's grill for dinner and Joes other place for breakfast. Thanks so much Julie and Bill we loved it!
