Great little place that does what it says on the tin. Maureen was a very helpful host- despite me arriving very late! Would recommend to others

Maureen's place is warm, cosy and delightfully quirky with retro touches and fabulous views of the Holy Loch from both front bedroom and living room. She clearly loves the local area and generously shared ideas about beautiful places to walk our dog. On our first evening we walked around the fascinating Kilmun Arboretum with its amazing variety of trees, just a short distance from the cottage. On our only full day at the cottage we had lunch at Benmore Botanical Gardens where we were pleased to find that amongst their delicious homemade dishes and cakes they offer vegan options too. We decided not to pay to see the gardens as dogs are welcome only on leads so instead we walked through the gorges of the magical, mysterious Puck's Glen. Highly recommended! We stayed just two nights at Maureen's place but could easily have stayed longer to explore the beautiful area.

Maureen's place was beautifully located on the loch and the road in front was very quiet, not a busy road at all. Her home was very charmingly decorated.

We had a lovely stay at Maureen's place! The house was beautiful with the master bedroom having amazing views! The heater kept us warm in the chilly Scotland weather. The only issue was probably the lack of food options nearby as the cothouse Inn was closed on wed! However, driving to Dunoon isn't too far away and it was perfect for us to go to the strone hill walking trail.

It was perfect for setting off for the ferry first thing in the morning, and had a lovely sunset view across the loch in the evening. Little garden in the back was lovely too.

I'm an Irishwoman who has had the privilege to live in Scotland for twenty years. The Cowal peninsula is considered to be Scotland's best kept secret. I wish to share with the world. It has the five things I couldn't live without in abundance: the freshest air, the deepest lochs,…
