No car needed. This house is 100 yrs old and crooked. Great wood floors and natural lighting. Quail pen and garden on the side yard, cat and kitten around too. Nice claw foot tub. Alley or street access. Not immaculate, much character.

The space

Much of Austin is walkable from here. The space is old, wooden, and sweet.

Interaction with guests

I'll be available and staying with family in town.

The house my girlfriend and I stayed in was exactly what we expected. A quiet, quaint place to rest our heads after 2 full days of exploring. From going out on Congress Ave, to hanging by Lake Austin we knew coming home after a long day would end in a peaceful place. Justin corresponded several times, left ingredients for guacamole and overall was a great host

Justin's place is just the best • it has everything you need to feel 100% welcomed at at home. We had a bottle of rose and some avocados to make guacamole on our arrival & we encouraged to pick some tomatoes from the veggie patch. The location is ideal for people who are keen to see Austin by bike or foot! We hired bikes from Peddle Pushers (just little one speeds) and easily made our way all around Austin with ease with Justin's place as our base. Local shops & bars are an easy walk. The footon was comfy, the cat was a hit & the hammock is made for two. We loved it so much we booked in for another stay while we were still there. Justin was was very responsive & accommodating!!

This house was exactly the home base we needed in Austin. The location was great. Walking distance to a lot of intimate local businesses and great for just wandering around. Plus, only a 7$ Lyft ride to downtown. (sidenote: if you're looking for a great cash only southern food secret, go to Nubian Queens, it's walking distance and a delicious GEM!) The house was charming with books I actually wanted to flip through and some local wine left out for us. The tuned piano, and the cat Pablo that comes and goes as he pleases was an added bonus. Even though the bed is a futon, it was way more comfortable than I thought it would be. If I came back to Austin I would definitely stay here. Don't stay here if you're looking for modern and contemporary, stay here if you're looking for character and charm.

If you are looking for an antiseptic, pristine place to stay, this is not for you. However, this tidy, cozy, bohemian bungalow is perfect to get you into the Austin spirit. It even comes with an optional cat! (the cat door can be closed)
