Biggin by Hartington/ Buxton, Derbyshire, United Kingdom

Biggin is a small village but we are fortunate to have a very friendly pub, The Waterloo Inn, and also Biggin Hall which is a country house hotel. Ashbourne, a Georgian market town, renowned for it's antique shops is a 15 minute drive away and has lots of independent shops with great butchers, delis and clothes shops. In Ashbourne you will find Waitrose, M & S Food, Sainsbury's, Majestic Wine plus lots more.
Buxton, with its stunning Regency crescents, is a Spa town and still the original water runs freely so you can fill up your bottles for free! Again, there is a Waitrose, M & S plus much more.
Also nearby are Bakewell, Leek and Matlock offering lots to visitors.
The Tissington Trail can be reached from the village and this is perfect for cycling or walking and it can take you further afield for the more adventurous!
Carsington Water is ideal for watersports with plenty of sailing plus walking and cycling.
If you are wanting a bit more adrenaline then Alton Towers or Go-Ape are not far away.
We are so lucky to have Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Kedleston Hall, Tissington Hall and many more country houses a short drive away.
So much to do!

I moved to Derbyshire 25 years ago from London after I married my husband, Richard, who grew up in The Peak District and we wanted to return to this beautiful part of England. We bought Biggin Grange in 2000 and it is a fantastic family home where my 3 children have had a wonderful place to grow up. Despite them all working or at University they love to return and enjoy the Derbyshire countryside and space we are lucky to live in.
