Where you’ll be

Te Kuiti, Waikato, New Zealand

The world renowned Waitomo Caves are right on our doorstep – only a 12 minute drive away. Here you can visit the Glowworm Cave, abseil into the Lost World, experience Blackwater Rafting, amongst many other activities.

Te Kuiti, the local village, is only a 2 minute drive away. It has a well stocked supermarket and a variety of cafes and eateries. Every year in April, Te Kuiti hosts the “running of the sheep” and national shearing championships.

The wider King Country area is famous for its Maori heritage, sheep and cattle farming, and striking limestone landforms amongst rolling hills and native forests. Attractions include “The Hobbit” set tours (Hairy Feet), hiking, fishing, and mountain biking.

We are very centrally located between the main North Island tourist destinations:1 hour from Hamilton; 1.5 hours from Taupo and Tongariro National Park; 2 hours from New Plymouth and Rotorua; and 2.5 hours from Auckland International Airport.
