How to travel to Cuba now??
Ted Henken, an American citizen, university professor, expert in Cuba, knows how to travel to Cuba despite regulations to travelers. These are his words:

If you want to know my take on the new Trump Cuba regulations you can check my blog @elyuma.

However, after revirewing the new Trump regulations on Cuba I realize that he and Marco Rubio just threw some new business my way.

I was already scheduled to be the on-board educator for a 10-day people-to-people educational and cultural cruise to Cuba in late December. The Trump policy ratifies the basic legality of those trips, so contact me if you want to join.

Additionally, I'm scheduled to lead a group people-to-people tour to Cuba in early January. We currently have 6 travelers but given the fact that by then individual people-to-people travel will be outlawed, I realize we may get a surge of interest in joining our fully legal group visit. So contact me if you're interested in joining me and our other happy travelers.

Rest assured that every effort will be made to spend our hard earned currency in private sector establishments - which has been my policy for > 20 years now.

This was the perfect place to stay in Havana. The house is EXCEPTIONALLY clean - a staff cleans it every day (they're as detailed as providing fresh flowers throughout and ironing the folds into the bedsheets!) - so it's always impeccable. The place is very spacious - way bigger than it looks in photos. The bedrooms are identical (meaning my friend and I didn't have to flip coins for the better one!) - big and modern with super comfortable beds. Each bedroom has its own air conditioner (in additional to the central one in the living room) so it says as cold as you want it at night. The hosts provide great amenities - tons of extra towels, beach towels, linens, blankets, a first aid kit, filtered water (and bottled water/soda/beer for $), etc. etc. The best part was the staff, who are super helpful. Ernesto made several reservations for us at great restaurants, helped schedule day trips, etc. He's an invaluable resource for visitors who are unfamiliar with the city (like us). Plus he's very responsive - We had trouble opening the safe one day and he literally RAN over from across town to help! The woman who greeted us upon checkin was also super sweet, professional and knowledgeable about the house and surrounding area. You can opt for breakfast at no additional cost. We chose to have it 4 of the 5 days during our trip. It includes a delicious variety of tropical fruits, juices, coffee and tea, breads with the most amazing homemade preserves, eggs cooked to order, ham and cheese, etc. My friend and I spent every day outside of the house, but if you ever want to just stay at the house and hang out let the staff know ahead of time because they stay for a long time to do the cleaning. (Which is why it always looks so nice). Complimentary run, fruit and cigars are provided as well! If you're planning on traveling to Havana, I would highly recommend that you stay here!

Fabulous apartment in the heart of old Havana. Definitely amongst the best Airbnb experiences we've ever had. Superb service throughout our stay - from delicious the breakfast every morning to guided shopping trips, and even help getting change for our cab on the way back to the airport. Superb experience overall and would highly recommend.

In reviews, you sometimes read "the pictures don't do this place justice." In this situation, that is an UNDERSTATEMENT! Suite Havana is absolutely gorgeous, spacious and inviting. Lea and Francois have not forgotten about any creature confort for their guests; from the high end linens, Havana maps, Cuba travel books, internet access, playing cards, daily breakfast, fresh fruits, a stocked fridge and a kitchen that would make ANY chef feel at home. Ernesto, the house manager, was extremely sweet and helpful with direction and reservations for the local establishments. Again, the unit is centrally located to every place you would like to visit on your trip to Old Havana; restaurantes, rooftop bars, a safe and clean tattoo studio, perfume shop, chocolate shop, nightly music, I could go on and on. You will not be disappointed if you stay here. Gracias de nuevo y regresaremos!

Where do I start? It's simply amazing. This place is even better than the pictures- gorgeous! It is extremely central, right in Old Havana and there is a restaurant right downstairs that serves decent food and you can oftentimes hear their music-it is magical! It is easy to walk to everywhere you need to be. There is wifi in the apartment and it worked the entire time we were there. You will need to purchase recharge cards if you need more than the 1 hour of free wifi per day, but it was enough for us, and quite reliable for Cuba! Now the staff of the apartment is the best part. Ernesto!!! He is the best and we could not imagine our trip to Havana without him. He greeted us with such warmth and gave us so much advice and information on Havana. He made us feel so comfortable and we were truly happy to see him every morning. There are maps and lots of useful information on Havana in the living room and we got a local cell phone to use to call our hosts if we needed to. The daily complimentary breakfast made by the lovely staff was so delicious and filling and the gifts of rum and cigars from our hosts were perfect for evenings relaxing on the roof top terrace. There is air conditioning throughout the entire apartment and the decor was modern and tasteful. You will be happy you chose to stay here but our only regret is that we didn't stay longer. I can't wait to come back to Havana to stay at Suite Havana!!! Thank you Lea and Ernesto!!

We looked at many places on Airbnb in Havana, and fell in love with Leandis' property. The pictures that you see here don't do the place justice, it's even bigger and nicer. She coordinated with us so that when we arrived she had a driver meet us with a sign at the airport - it was only $30 CUC. When we arrived her staff Ernesto and Masuri met us there, gave us a tour of the property and made sure we were settled in before leaving. Her staff offer to make breakfast in the mornings if you like. It's definitely nice to have them do that at least one of the days you stay - the fresh juice they make (Watermelon or Pineapple or others) is amazing. Just be prepared to spend at least an hour or so. However, if you'd like to get going quickly, there are plenty of other breakfast options walking distance from the property. There is a super helpful map hanging on the wall with a lot of great restaurants and tourist site suggestions. It's nice to see it while you're getting ready and helps orient you well in the city especially if it's your first time visiting Havana. The A/C is ice cold, and definitely a must in this climate. The Wi-Fi is limited but nice to have (especially communicating with other Hosts if you book Experiences through Airbnb). We spent dusk/night up on the rooftop patio when it's not quite so hot - it was beautiful to relax and have a wine/cigar. The downstairs Cafe sometimes has live music and you can hear it on the rooftop. The overall experience was great and beyond our expectations, and we can't wait to come back!

This place is as great as the pictures convey…the location is perfect, the design impeccable, and the level of comfort is very high. In the middle of the restored historic district of Havana, you are a stone’s throw away from great architecture, restaurants, bars, museums, and galleries. The bedrooms are soundproofed and I slept soundly during my stay. Masuri and Ernesto were very kind and the breakfasts were excellent. Muchas gracias por todo, Leandis. Tony
