Mollybon is all about the incredible view, tranquil setting and privacy. My husband and I enjoyed sitting on the veranda - staring at the blue Atlantic Ocean during the day and the stars at night. Monty is a wonderful host. Even though he wasn't on the island while we were there, he helped us ensure we had a rental car and was great at communicating with us. We also easily coordinated with his on-island friend/support person, Bernard, to guide us to the house and get us oriented. We would strongly recommend a rental car to get to Mollybon. It's a steep mile-long walk up to the house. While taking the local transportation is fun for a while, for freedom and ease of exploration, a rental car is a must. My husband also loved the plunge pool on the property - especially refreshing after some of our longer island hikes.

This was a fantastic villa in a semi-secluded area of Nevis. The gardens-keeper met us at the seabridge and we followed him to the house (about a 15 minute drive). I highly recommend having a vehicle while on your stay. The house does not have any A/C units. However, there is a lovely constant breeze that made even a few young people from U.S.A. forget that there wasn't one. I dare say it even got a little chilly in the middle of the night! We had a lovely few days and I would book this villa again without hesitation!

We felt like the Pirate King and Queen in our palace on the hill. Mollybon has the ultimate view of the Atlantic and Carribean. The (gated) property is very private and well situated under the Volcano of Mt. Nevis with lush vegetation and clear unobstructed views. And Mollybon is a surefire cure for what ails you. I left the states with a nasty cold and after 3 days on Nevis I was cured. Thanks Monty.

Charming, cozy house with stunning views and beautiful landscaping. It is a lived-in house, which means not everything is in perfect shape, but it's very clean and because it is actually lived-in, the kitchen is stocked with everything you could possibly need. In addition, Monty left us a refrigerator full of food (fresh milk, eggs, bread, cans of tuna, wine etc.). If you enjoy walking/hiking, you should explore the immediate neighborhood, which is an interesting mix of simple houses and grand villas. If you walk down the path toward the water tank and take your first right, you will head along a shady path that takes you past some of the larger villas. Alternatively, go up the path on the other side of the water tank, which will curve to the right and take you up the side of the mountain. Lots of lush jungle vegetation and you are almost guaranteed to see monkeys (as well as donkeys, pigs, bats, butterflies and other wildlife). Overall, a lovely place from which to explore Nevis.

This is an incredible place to stay and enjoy Nevis. The view is jaw dropping of the green slopes of Nevis and the ocean. Close and easy access to the best restaurants, the historic plantation inns and stores for shopping. Monty made sure we were very well looked after from start to finish. I would highly recommend Mollybon and hope we can return soon.

I am a writer and wildlife documentary filmmaker. I first came to Nevis in 1979 on a writing assignment, and discovered a quiet tropical paradise inhabited by gracious, beautiful people. Returning with my family, we built Mollybon in 1988 and 89, and over the following 35 years I have not been disappointed.
Who am I? Half of my soul is in Nevis, the other half in the wilds of British Columbia, Canada.
