Spacious studio apartment accommodations for 1-3 people. Unbeatable location seconds from Taos plaza. Parking, private backyard, premium mattress, full kitchen, porch deck, tasteful modern decoration, full amenities. Literally next to brewpub. Hip hosts. Not suitable for children under the age of 10.

The space

Tastefully decorated 1,100 sq. ft. Attic apartment in a historic downtown Taos home. Open studio floor plan, private exterior entrance. Queen Serta memory foam topped bed, twin futon. Bathroom has a nice shower with excellent water pressure but no bath. (For those who need privacy it is good to know that the bathroom has a curtain for a door.) Full kitchen (fully furnished for 4+ people). Comfortable couch, new 32’ HDTV (Apple TV with netflix included, hdmi input open, no cable or broadcast). Spectacular upstairs deck porch with views of Truchas mountain range. Private fenced backyard with Grill and picnic table. 45 second walk to Taos plaza, downtown shopping, galleries, and dining. Entrance to apartment has steep stairs with a low ceiling at the top of the stairs, easy to maneuver for those with able bodies. Apartment is not a suitable fit for those with children under 10.

Guest access

One guest parking space in driveway, additional parking parallel to street. Gated walkway to private back yard and entrance (only entrance is up steep indoors staircase). Directly next to New Mexico's oldest microbrewery, Eske's brewpub, where you can get a hamburger from beef raised in Taos county, and a green chile beer brewed on premises. 1 minute walk to the World Cup, one of the finest gourmet espresso cafes in the state. Grocery store (with liquor and pharmacy) 5 minute walking distance away.

Interaction with guests

The upstairs apartment is completely seperate from the downstairs house (our full time residence). As with most apartments, there is some noise shared within the building. A loud TV/radio or booted footsteps are audible through the floor (both ways). We have a quiet lifestyle, so you shouldn't have to complain about our noise, and we are used to having guests upstairs. As the place is in the dead center of downtown, there is some road/ambient noise during the days, and in the summer the pub next door often has live music until 9 or 10 pm. Nights here are quiet with spectacular stargazing. The large backyard is partitioned by a fence, so you may meet our friendly dog and cat as they roam our adjoining backyard.

Other things to note

As this is an attic studio, there are some low ceilings and a bit of stooping involved. The stairs are steep (think Amsterdam). Probably not a comfortable fit for very large people. I'm 5' 11" and I have to stoop at the top of the stairs and bathroom entrance. The bathroom has a curtain for a door, so don't plan on locking yourself in the bathroom for a minute of privacy from your traveling companion(s). All said it is a very comfortable, private space.

I absolutely loved my stay. The apartment was so cool, had everything and more. The deck was quaint and I got to relax out there under the full moon. I read in the reading nook and it felt so childlike and special. I wish I could've stayed longer!

This place was great! Perfect location. Short walk to the plaza. Be sure you are comfortable with your roommate though because the bathroom walls do not go all the way to the ceiling so there isn't much privacy.

Genevieve was a great host! Even though we didn't meet her she was very prompt responding to my messages. The place was super cute and clean with beautiful views from the porch and super close to the plaza. Just what we were looking for :)

Fabulous spacious pad with lovely sunset view! We enjoyed staying in a place where the two of us could get a round of morning stretches in on our mats. Wished we had arrived earlier to take in the sunset view. Location is great, too, with World Cup coffee just 5 min. up the road. Comfy sleep, handy to have a kitchen available. As mentioned in description, the steep staircase is a challenge. Also the little kettle is rather antique. But that all makes for an authentic feel for those who love a bit of a retro touch. We loved it.

Genevieve's place is spectacular! We had a wonderful stay in Taos and it was made even better by the adorable loft in a fantastic location! Genevieve was helpful without being intruding. She answered questions quickly via text and was able to guide us on activities to do while we were in the area. The loft is right in town so it has great access to a bunch of restaurants, art galleries and shops! The loft itself was very clean. The ceiling is sloped (we bumped our heads once or twice), but it is as advertised. The kitchen was well stocked. The bed is super comfortable. They have an Apple TV with access to Netflix which was great. The view from the deck was a lovely view of the mountains! We would definitely stay here again!

This attic apartment is incredible! Airy and comfortable with beautiful view of the countryside and mountains. Conveniently located within walking distance of shops, restaurants, museums, and more. Genevieve left a three page list on the table full of suggestions for eating, groceries, etc. Which came in handy. We would recommend this Airbnb to anyone!
