Trad. Lakes terrace in quiet cul-de-sac, private parking ,easy walk to all amenities incl. trains to Manchester, L'pool or Edinburgh(only 2 hrs). You can potter or para-glide!

The space

Family home, comfortable, peaceful & relaxed. There is a large fully sprung double sofa bed in the lounge or you will be in the upstairs bedroom on a small double bed( my room usually). It depends on the length of you and /or your stay!!!
There's one flight of stairs, narrow tread and steep so calm, elegant descent required! There's an outside downstairs loo ( for morning poo, as we are all sharing the shower room:) as well as the bath/shower room upstairs.
Well-equipped kitchen/dining room. All the noisy stuff is out back in boiler-house and utility outhouse(washer/dryer) so things are very quiet from about 9pm til 8am.

Guest access

You'll have your room, of course, and access to the bathroom and kitchen/dining room, downstairs loo and the front and back yard/gardens.

Interaction with guests

Having now been guests ourselves we have a much better idea of what a great host actually is! We had such a lovely experience at Raul and Paqui's in Malaga so we look forward to meeting new people and hearing about you and helping you to have a great experience and making sure your stay with us is peaceful and a good night's kip!

Other things to note

We have a sunny, sociable front garden and a cool, private back yard/garden so weather permitting you can sit out and eat outside, we have various beanbags, chairs, tables, parasols etc.
Our main reason for doing this is to meet new people as Grange is a bit of a mono-culture.... but we understand you might just need to sleep n go!

Response from Rahina:
Unfortunately we had to cancel Kate's 2 night stay with us, due to a totally unexpected family situation. I did apologise ( although my initial e-mail got lost in the AirBnB tangle of texts& e-mails....) and I did arrange an alternative local AirBnB host. I am sorry we wont get to meet Kate or her son and wish them well. Rahina

Rahina and Genevieve were amazing hosts. They gave us all the right tips and info that we've needed to have the perfect weekend at the lakes. The house is very cosy and very well located, Grange o Sands is indeed a very nice little town with a great sea view and good places to eat. It is in fact a good starting point to explore the lakes. Rahina's house is also a wonderfull home to spend some enjoyable time in great company, they are very interesting people with a lot to share. We felt very welcomed!

Rahina was a superb host! She was awesome and went above and beyond with making us feel at home and comfortable. She was kind and courteous; she provided great recommendations for things to do; she has a wealth of knowledge that she was happy to share; she helped us figure out modes of transportation; and was joyful to be around. The room was comfortable, cozy, and private. The bed was comfortable and was adorned with several blanket options which was helpful with the day-to-day weather changes. The bathroom was spacious and clean. She inquired about our level of comfort each night and went out of her way to ensure we felt welcome and had everything we needed. We were able to complete some much needed laundry. She eats healthy which was a plus for us as we do as well; she made several great food recommendations and local markets to shop in. She ensured we had gluten free breakfast items and I enjoyed many cups of Rooibos tea! Her home was clean, inviting, and reflected her family’s interests—art, travel, health, animals, and social connection. Her home is located very near to the rail station, several grocers, restaurants, and shopping. We really enjoyed walking along the Promenade each day which overlooked the bay. We found Rahina and her family to be delightful, approachable, warm, and genuine. Although we were thousands of miles from home, we felt like we were home.

A very cute limestone house on a pretty cul de sac. Lovely flowers packed int a small garden space. The inside highly personal with lots of pics, trinkets and hangings. Nice shower in the bath and had access to kitchen with tea / coffee bread and cereal laid on. I was nicely looked after by a neighbour as my host was away. The cats do have full reign in the home but i had been told this. The host very easy about household security but Grange is a very sleepy and safe town. I had room to park the car and access to WIFI and I felt very safe and welcomed. A short walk downhill into town.

Sylvia, Rahina's house sitter greeted us and made us feel welcome. She helped us secure transportation to the house on arrival. She was friendly, and she was also knowledgeable about the area. She directed us to many wonderful places and events in the beautiful are of Grange-Over-Sands. We had a nice time chatting with Sylvia. Rahina also called us on the telephone to be sure we were comfortable.

Although we did not have the pleasure of meeting Rahina, substitute hostess Sylvia welcomed us, and was very available and helpful to us. She helped us with information about the beautiful area of Grange Over Sands.
