This is such a beautiful chalet. We couldn't have hoped for anything nicer, as everything is lovely and comfortable and quality. Kids (age 5 and 9) loved it. Matthieu was great at getting back to us, answering all our questions quickly. The area is perfect for those that want to explore Chamonix without staying in the town itself. Servoz is so peaceful and it was great to be able to come back to that after a busy day in the mountains (15 min drive from Chamonix). Summer here is stunning. Both the property and the area are upmarket, as is Les Houches. On arrival, we were met by the housekeeper who showed us where everything was. We had a great week. Aiguille du Midi (ski lift to the top of Mont Blanc) was incredible and walking in the mountains at this time of year is wonderful. Also did Paragliding, Montenvers Train/Mer de Glace, La Gorges de la Diosaz, Accro Parc (like Go Ape), many walks and ski lifts - all suitable for our kids (e.g. ski lift from Les Houches to Bellevue, then walk to Le Prarion, then ski lift back down. Chair lift to Glacier des Bossons, etc) and La Luge/Adventure Park and Chamonix swimming pool - great for kids and lovely to swim with the mountains as your backdrop. Visited Annecy on the way home, which was pretty, but nowhere near as beautiful as this area and it was totally packed. There is small shop in Servoz selling basics, and a bigger Carrefour in Les Houches just behind the tourist office. Bab Pizza (a little kiosk opposite the entrance to La Gorges de la Diosaz - call to order before you pick up) do the best Pizza in the area. We ate in chamonix a few times for convenience - the best burgers we found were in Poco Loco - tiny restaurant upstairs but great for our kids. All round great holiday - perfect accommodation (comfy beds with no bed ends - great for anyone tall) and the perfect area for those that can't do beach holidays. Totally awesome. thank you Matthieu!

We stayed 3 nights in this wonderful chalet for a short vacation. The house is very beautiful and has any kind of comfort. The living area is very cozy and has an amazing view of the mountains. Matthieu was a perfect host...Polite, hospitable and discreet and has been able to meet all our request. I highly recommend it and will definitely return for another holiday.

We absolutely loved staying at Matthieu’s chalet this summer. Matthieu made us feel very excited about every aspect of our stay, reassuring us with every detail we wanted to know, and writing in English when my French started to falter. Since he couldn’t be at the chalet to welcome us, his lovely cleaner showed us round and walked us to the village centre to show us the friendly little grocery shop which sells wonderful artisan-style baguettes, great cheese and all the basics. The walk takes just 10 minutes with two small children. There's also a tourist office (speaking very little English!), and there's a sweet little green and old church. Don't miss the thin, crispy pizzas made to order by friendly guy in the tiny roadside cabin nearby and opposite the entrance to an impressive gorge with walkways that hug the rock. The chalet itself is very attractive and comfortable. The first floor balcony gives the most fantastic view of snow-capped Mont Blanc. The main living area is open plan, with a smart, well equipped kitchen area, a large dining table and a cosy sitting area. It's all beautifully furnished with a modern feel combined with nice antique touches. The fact that the downstairs bedroom is right next to a children’s bedroom with two beds was really handy as we didn't have to go far for waking children. There’s a nice little patio out the back with a large table, and although the grass area belonging just to the chalet is very small, the children are allowed to run around the whole meadow-like area behind the house, which is also the site for a couple of other chalets, though the nearest is an unoccupied old barn. You can tell the chalet has only recently been refurbished in some places, and there are a few details that still need attention, but overall it’s smart, tastefully decorated and very practical. The only disappointment was that the video machine wouldn't work, so we had to watch films on our iPad - the chalet's wi-fi came in particularly handy! The chalet is situated near the very top end of the old part of the village of Vieux Servoz, which is really delightful. The other chalets have lots of old-world charm and character and most have a pretty vegetable garden out front. The village at the end of the road so there's very little traffic. Just up the lane are the remnants of an old bread oven, and there are the village’s original animal troughs all over the place, still in wonderful condition. There are some super walks directly from the old village, and in any case the chalet is just 15 minutes from just about anywhere you’d want to go in the Chamonix area. There’s a small Carrefour supermarket less than 10 minutes away by car in Les Houches and plenty of bigger ones nearby too. Overall, we enjoyed our stay so much we have already been talking about returning next year.

Matthieu met us at his chalet, helped us find it after a small confusion, and made us welcome. He was even able to advise us on a few easy hikes to entertain our crew of grandkids and grandparents, and to explore the local scenery (which is exemplary!). The chalet has found a good balance between still functioning as a home, and hosting strangers. We absolutely loved it there and are so grateful to Matthieu for making it available. The front deck for morning coffee, the back patio for evening quiet, and above all, the peace and the incredible views. My dream is to return some winter!

Chalet très propre et très bon accueil à l'arrivée. Plein de belles choses à voir et à faire dans cette superbe région . A conseiller sur tous points de vue. Magnifiques vacances en famille.
