Welcome to downtown Wilmington. The home is a short walk from Cape Fear Water Front. It is a diverse neighborhood. Downtown has lots of restaurants and sights to see. 10-15 mins from Wrightsville Beach.

The space

The home is a 1938 bungalow. The room is furnished with a queen memory foam mattress. It is firm to medium. There is a small flat screen with apple tv, which includes netflix.

Guest access

Guests have access to all areas of the home except my office and the studio behind the house. The kitchen has a coffee maker, tea kettle, also there is a slow whole juicer.

Interaction with guests

I am usually around and can help with restaurant suggestions and so forth.
I usually meditate in the mornings. You are welcome to join.

Other things to note

Just a quick note, you may see the occasional waterbug in the home. They aren't the nicest thing to look at, but I am an EXPERT at removing them. I will gladly take care of it if this should arise. This has to do more with being in the south/downtown area. My home is clean, but they do show up. Also, I have a cat named buddy. He is fairly new to being in the house. He is nice, but will probably be scarce.

Also it is suggested to take a cab in the evenings to be on the safe side. I have never had problems, but this is an urban environment and things can happen.

This is definitely not a party house. I do not drink or use drugs. I am more into a good nights sleep etc. Meditation. However, if the guests are considerate, then it is not a problem. Also, it is a non smoking house. I have an ashtray out back for smokers.

David is a terrific host in all respects. He is a mega-reasonable guy who will give you as much help as you need to make your stay easy. His place is a good location if you intend to spend a lot of time downtown. It's about 25-30 minutes to the Wrightsville beach in an Uber. I'd highly recommend his place as a great spot for anyone who is open to a diverse neighborhood. It's certainly not a five star resort, but for my first airbnb experience David set the bar extremely high. Thanks David! Also-there is an awesome cat.

David is hospitable, charismatic, and kind. We had a great (but quick) stay with him and would highly recommend him to other travellers.

My friend and I booked a last-minute trip to the beach and picked David's Chill Bungalow because of the convenient location and relaxed vibe. We were first-time Airbnb-ers, so we were a little nervous about staying in a strangers home. Fortunately for us, David was an awesome host - very friendly, welcoming, helpful and flexible. The house has a very cool, artsy, relaxed atmosphere with original art, comfy furniture and a rug that really ties the room together.... The back yard is the perfect little private hideaway with lots of plants, shade, lights and a tree-scaling cat who likes to show off for guests :-) The bed was very comfy, awesomely roomy shower, and coffee was plentiful in the morning. We had a great weekend, and will definitely return when in the Wilmington area!!

David is a nice guy, very hospitable. The location is near the waterfront and convenient. He even gave me a lift to the retirement party I was in town for.

My one night stay at Chill Bungalow was exactly what I was looking for as a visiting artist in the 2017 Plein Air competition sponsored by the Wilmington Arts Council. My room was close enough to walk downtown to the artists reception and take in the view of historic sites along the way. But what was especially enjoyed was getting to know David, my host, who is himself an artist and had entered the same contest last year. Very hospitable, he even spent time "talking shop" and gave me a private tour of his home and studio with a selection of his recent works. To top off my stay, the next morning at the show, the "Confederate Mound" at Oakdale, one of my plein air oil on canvas entries received an award, as judged by nationally recognized Plein Air artist, Suzanne Morris.

David offered to pick me up from the airport, which he did in a very timely way. He was very friendly, and his place had a very cool bohemian vibe to it. The location was very convenient, as it is close to the airport and you can walk downtown. The bed was pretty comfortable and the shower was clean. I'd stay here again.

Dave was a great host. He was very welcoming. The bed was great. I got a good nights rest. Woke up to the smell of coffee and a nice chat about our travels.

My name is David, and I love Airbnb. I started using Airbnb last year and it reminds me of traveling around Europe. Love to stay with and host new people.
I am a simple person, my home is eclectic with lots of art and color. My roommate is a cat named Buddy, he naps a lot. My favorite hobby is making art, so much so I built a studio behind the house. =) I hope you have a great trip wherever you go/stay. Life is a journey not a destination.
