Welcome to my newly renovated apartment in the outskirts of Reykjavik. Perfect choice for those traveling by car with private parking and 10min drive to downtown Reykjavík.
Accomodates 3 with 1 single bed and a double sofa-bed.
Welcome to my newly renovated apartment, a cosy and colourful place that I normally call home.
The apartment is a secondary-suite as part of a bigger house, with private entrance on the ground floor.
The Apartment is very practical with the kitchen, living and dining room in one open space where all you need is always within reach. There's one bedroom with a super single sized bed (105cm) but the apartment easily fits three people by converting the sofa into a queen sized bed with mattress and duvets for everybody. The bathroom has a shower and a washer.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a cooker with two hobs and a small oven that still fits a big baking dish. All utensils are right within reach and there's a good selection of spices. There's a teapot and a french press to make coffee. The sink is big and there's a dish-rack and dish-towel hanging on the wall next to it.
I completely renovated the kitchen last summer (2014) stripping down the old interior and building a new one with new cabinets, sink, tabletop, tiles, paint job, plumbing etc.
The bathroom was also completely renovated in November 2015, with new shower, toilet, sink, tabletop etc.
There's high speed wireless internet. 32" LCD TV connected to an Apple TV for your required dose of entertainment. On the wall there's a big map of Iceland (152x110cm), perfect to help you plan your further trips.
Parking spot in front of the house as pictured.
The garden is reserved for the main house/apartment where my parents live.
Other things to note
Please leave and have the windows open as much as you can. It's a small space and when showering and cooking a lot of moisture adds up inside, we've often found the apartment left with dripping wet window sills and that's a problem.
In Iceland there is plentiful of natural hot spring water coming from the ground, this is used to heat the houses so don't be afraid of leaving the radiators on. You'll notice the funny smell of sulfur from the hot tap water, Icelanders don's use it for cooking but we love showering in it :)
Smoking inside the apartment is not allowed.
No excessive drinking
Please try to keep it down after 10PM.
I kindly ask my guests to read the visitors guide which will have all the information you'll need in regards to wireless internet, the stereo equipment, TV, Washing machine, kitchen and other things.
General rule is that check out happens before or at 10am and checkin is at 2pm or later.
I am easily reached and more than willing to help my guests so they get the most out of their stay in Iceland.
My parents live in the other part of the house and I partly live with my girlfriend in downtown Reykjavík.
