A lovely spacious loft in a gracious old building in what must be one of Piemonte's prettiest (and least known) villages. We loved the combination of architectural heritage (exposed beams, brick floors) with colourful contemporary touches. Breathtaking views over vineyards and hills, to other villages. Good strong shower and plenty of hot water. There are quite a few mosquitoes in the summer month, but we were provided an electric repellant diffuser, and we applied to repellent we travel with, and had no problems. The wifi was spotty in the loft but probably works better downstairs in the peaceful courtyard. Gabriella was easy to communicate with, responded to our query almost immediately, and though she doesn't speak English and our Italian is limited we had no trouble understanding each other. When we arrived she showed us to the loft, which is very private, and left us to ourselves. The next morning she served a wonderful, bountiful breakfast of cheeses, salumi, sweet and savory breads, preserves, yogurt and plenty of good strong coffee with hot milk. Great location for walking, easy drive to Casale Monferrato, a great town with a weekly market, monthly antique market, lots of cafes and restaurants and a wine bar. Wine lovers should not miss a visit to the ancient hand-carved cantina of La Casaccia, an organic winery located in Cella Monte.

Our family stayed in Gabrielle's lovely flat for one night. We really did regret that we could not stay for longer. She made us feel very welcome, and we would love to come back one day!

Grazie mille Gabrielle!
