The space

A roomy private duplex, with two sleeping areas: 1 Queen bed & 1 Double bed. The two bedrooms are private with separate doors but are connected by a hallway that leads to the shared bathroom. As with most apartments on Airbnb, this is not set up for toddlers or pets. We do not allow pets so that people with allergies can stay here. There are stairs here so this might not be a good fit for people with a toddler or crawling baby.

The fee is based on two person occupancy of one bedroom. You will see the extra fee to accommodate guests in the second bedroom. Fully renovated kitchen and two seating areas for relaxing. Just outside you will find Hudson's wonderful restaurants, shops, galleries, and music venues, including the Hudson Opera, TSL, Basilica. In warm weather you you are minutes away from our riverfront park areas with gorgeous Hudson River views. In summer there is a ferry that takes you across to the quaint town of Athens, famous for its riverfront tavern and brewery.

One queen bed and one full size bed.

Guest access

The apartment is accessed by punch code keypads for the exterior door and the apartment itself. We change the codes regularly. You will be given the current codes when you book.

The building has a coin-op washer/dryer. There is off-street parking in the rear of the building.

Interaction with guests

We live in the building. If we are out of town we have caretakers who will be available to assist with any issues.

Other things to note

The apartment has a lovely collection of books and art. Some of the art is for sale. Please inquire if you are interested in a piece!

Julie and her team were the perfect host. She was very quick to reply and answer all of my questions. When we got there I called her care taker to ask about an ironing board because I did not see one. Within 20 minutes there were two smiling women knocking on the door with an ironing board in hand. Julie introduced herself in passing as well. We knew that they were there to help us but they weren't over bearing at all. Location couldn't be more perfect. Great stay!

This place was great. Julie was very communicative leading up to our stay. Parking in the back was easy and accessing the apartment was easy. Location was perfect. Quiet clean and comfortable place that I would definitely recommend.

Julie's place was perfectly located for my stay in Hudson. It was walking distance to the train station and walking distance to everything Warren Street had to offer. The apt provided all we needed to sleep and get ready for the day. The bed was OK, I believe memory foam. The bathroom was tight but manageable. My least favorite part was the shower. It is an old fashioned (small) footed tub with a shower curtain hung around it which hangs on the inside of the tub. Something about touching the shower curtain grossed me out so it was very difficult to move around inside the confines of it and putting it on the outside would have made a wet mess. Also, it didn't drain well so I was standing in a deep puddle of water the entire time which also wasn't my favorite. There was also no where to put your toiletries so we used the toilet seat while in the shower. Overall, the apartment provides what you need but it was not something I would seek out again.

Beautiful apartment! Wonderful location on Warren street, close to a variety of restaurants, galleries, and coffee shops, as well as the train station. Incredible interior, including a collection of art and writing. My host Julie was very helpful and was very quick to respond to any messages or questions I had.

If you happen to be traveling with a toddler, this is not the place to stay. It is not safe for a wiggly little one. Otherwise, the space is beautiful and in really nice location. Julie was responsive and accommodating.

Julies place is in an awesome location, right on Warren St. This unit has comfortable beds and was very quiet during our stay. Julie is planting a lovely garden out back, which would be perfect to enjoy on cool evenings. I feel, this unit is best suited for only 2 people, the second front bedroom is attached to the back bedroom, kind of "Jack and Jill" style. On very hot days, the AC window unit struggles to cool the upstairs, esp. the front bedroom.

Response from Julie:
The description states the arrangement of the bedrooms. We always explain this to guests when they book. The situation of the AC was unexpected. It has always worked well in the past and I did my very best to resolve the situation promptly that very same evening, not the next day. I repeatedly said that if there was anything else you needed you should contact me right away. I saw you at the farmer market the following day. This would have been a perfect time to tell me about any issues such as items left in the refrigerator, housekeeping issues, requiring extra toilet paper, or the AC still not working as you would have liked. We do not like to intrude on our guests' privacy, but as you can see from many fine reviews we have, we are very responsive to all concerns. If there are ever issues, we always address them. I am not a mind reader, however, so if I do not hear from a guest I assume all is well.

I am a graphic designer, writer, and artist. My partner, Clark is a property manager in Manhattan and has supervised all the renovation work on the 1830s building we bought in Hudson in 2013. After decades of city living we wanted more access to an outdoor life and we loved the urban vibrancy of Hudson. We enjoy the music/art/food scene here and are excited to offer space to travelers who want to get a taste of life in our town.

When we travel, we like to keep things simple and unfussy. We strive to live that way ourselves here. We have created spaces for visitors we hope will feel like a home, whether you are in Hudson for a short stay or longer. We have hosted film crews, attendees at conferences, and weekend travelers looking for relaxation. We hope you will enjoy your stay with us!

We are in the process of transforming our rear courtyard into a park-like garden for all our tenants and visitors.
