The apartment is on 2 floors with a very steep spiral staircase. Xavier has lots of personal items scattered around the flat. All bedrooms, bathroom and the (black) painted toilet is located downstairs (under the stairs) in a cramped space. I think this place is best suited to students or young couples, maybe not a top choice for families. But a good central location in the Marais.

Response from Xavier:
Hi Natasha, I am disappointed with your comments and notation. It s hard to understand as everything is clear and in my description. This is my home, so it s normal that my personal things are there. For your information , professional empty Airbnb places are not legal in Paris. The 2 floors are described in the text as the size of the flat. What you call cramped is just the tiny spaces where we have to live in Paris.

We loved the location. We loved the apartment. We were near to everything and it allowed us to really experience Paris. Xavier left us great guide books , good instructions and we found our favorite guide book. The apartment was incredibly comfortable and the beds were as comfortable as home. It became our home away from home and it felt like a home. Xavier was responsive when we needed him. Xavier's home made our "trip of a lifetime" an experience that we will never forget. Thank you so much.

Our stay in Xavier's apartment was wonderful. The location near the Bastille metro station was ideal, and we loved the shops and restaurants nearby. The bathroom was clean, towels were laid out for us, and the beds were made. I'm not sure if the sheets on the sofa bed were clean, but Xavier directed us to where we could find clean sheets. The kitchen could have been cleaner, but we didn't really use it. We also couldn't find any trash bags for the trash can which made trash removal a little tricky, but this wasn't a deal breaker. We appreciated Xavier's check-in and check-out flexibility and made use of his guidebook. Be sure to eat at Le Temps - get the escargot and duck!

Xavier's place is quaint and eclectic, the decor was great. There was plenty of space for an apartment in Paris. It's a super close walk to the Bastille neighborhood where all the restaurants, bars, and shopping establishments are. Would highly recommend his place if you're looking to be central to Bastille.

Great location but noise and poor window coverings made sleeping difficult.

The apartment is very close to all amenities, and in an excellent location set back from the main road, so pretty quiet. public transport is excellent. Bus to the louvre on main road, and Bastille metro very close. The apartment is "quirky " but large and clean, beware of the last step downstairs by the toilet, we all missed it, ouch. We were a party of five and there was enough space for us all. Plates and glasses are kept in a high cupboard, so leave out what you need. The apartment has everything you need if you wish to self cater. We had a great time and would recommend.
