Adorable One Bedroom Condo with Large, private patio.
This condo has a newly updated interior in light green and blue hues. This is the perfect retreat for anyone wanting to relax and recharge. It's also perfect for anyone visiting or relocating to Chico, or establishing their son or daughter at Chico State.
The neighborhood is centrally located in South Chico; in a safe, working class neighborhood. It's close to so many places. You can walk to great restaurants, a wonderful Raley's supermarket with an impressive organic section is practically next door. There's a fantastic burrito place called Burrito Bandito that puts Chipotle to shame. There's Cocodine - which is fantastic Thai food, and the superb Ojima, a Japanese and Sushi place with a full bar, practically across the street. Also, lest I forget to mention that the world famous Sierra Nevada Taproom and Restaurant is just down the street a ways. It offers wonderful entertainment in their well known and impressive "Big Room." There are also daily tours of the state of the art brewery and a really cool gift shop! There's just SO much to do around this convenient little condo. Its private and homey and has a nice relaxing patio that gives the condo a more expamsive feel. I just love the place and sometimes stay there between guests just to escape my hectic family life. Lol!. The outside is a little rustic and needs a little work...but the homeowner's association keeps it maintained and landscaped. The the inside is very clean, fresh and nicely updated. It is an older complex and the upstairs tenants, although considerate and very nice, can be heard walking around at times complexes, as with most multi-unit. It doesn't bother me, as it doesn't seem to last long, and has not been a significant issue with guests. Also, I keep packages of unopened foam earplugs handy for guests. This is not a huge issue at all, but it's important to mention it so as to be as candid as possible. It's never bothered me or friends or family members who have stayed there one bit.

The condo is located minutes from the expansive and diverse Bidwell Park (where the original Robin Hood movie was filmed in the 1930's). Bidwell Park has a lovely golf course, cafe, shooting range, grassy picnic areas, a public swimming area, miles of hiking and biking trails, stunning cliffs and views, a stunning, robust, year round river, and several refreshing, easily accessible swimming holes. There are numerous areas to day camp, river walk, bike, hike, swim, and even fish.
The condo is well located, with close, easy access to Hwy 99, and to the Skyway which goes east to Paradise, or west towards Park Ave, which turns into "The Esplanade" and winds through downtown Chico, and beyond, through the beautiful "Avenue of Trees".
Paradise is a short, very scenic 11 mile drive east; through Chico's beautiful, little known, but breathtaking Butte Creek Canyon, and into the charming mountain towns of Paradise and Magalia. If interested in a little gambling, the beautiful, modern Gold Country Casino and Feather Falls Casino are both located approx 30 miles south, in Oroville. There is also a new, lovely Casino 30 miles north, in Corning, and another one approx 50 miles southwest, in Colusa.
The outdoor patio has a propane barbeque and sitting area, allowing you to unwind in peace and comfort in a private fully fenced area . Despite it being centrally located, the condo and patio are surprisingly quiet.
The condo has two flat screen TVs with Cable, HBO, other FREE movie channels. and several sports channels. There are also PPV channels available at an extra charge. (If you watch any PPV movies, please leave cash upon check-out). The bedroom TV is HD, and has a DVR. The living room TV is not HD, but has a DVD player. There is a Redbox (for inexpensive DVD rentals), at Raley's, two blocks from the condo. There is also FREE, FAST, wireless internet in the condo. The TVs and internet are Comcast, which offers far better quality and service than Satellite any day.
The condo is small, but the open layout, and outdoor patio increase the living space considerably. There is a 3 guest limit in this unit due to its smaller size. (Third person is an additional $15/night). Free parking is in space #11, steps from the front door. There's extra parking on the street for visitors or an extra car, or you can park in front of the dumpster (not an official parking spot) but visitors park there all the time with no problem or risk of being towed. There is an affordable coin operated washer and dryer in the complex, steps from the front door. $1.25 - $1.50 to wash, depending on the size of the load, and 75 cents - $1.00 to dry. Laundry soap, dish washing soap, and cleaning supplies are located for your use under the kitchen sink.
Tax is included in the price, which saves you an additional 10-13% that hotels charge. There is a refundable security deposit of $95 required.(Airbnb authorizes this amount upon booking, and then removes the auth on the day you check out), and a small Airbnb booking fee (which is reimbursed to you upon arrival - see details below). We rarely have guests with pets, but will usually allow a housebroken, mostly quiet, non destructive pet for a $10 per night additional fee, and a $75 refundable pet deposit (refunded at check out after a quick walk through ). We've had very few guests with pewts, but I've never kept anyone's pet deposit, and also have authorized AIRBNB to return all security deposits so far, as Airbnb guests have been the BEST!
The cozy bedroom has a very comfortable queen size pillow top bed, two nightstands with drawers and reading lamps, an alarm clock/radio, a closet with shelving, and an additional cabinet for storage. There is a comfy suede fold out sofa in the living room (Please cover sofa with sheet or blanket to protect suede if it will be used as a bed). There are plenty of sheets, blankets, towels and linens for your use in the cabinet next to the bathroom.
The full kitchen is well stocked with modern appliances, cook and dishware, paper towels, napkins, baggies, trash bags, etc., etc. for your use.
This is a wonderful alternative to staying at a hotel, due to all the home style amenities, two TVs, open floor plan, outdoor patio, propane BBQ, and added privacy. We have gone the extra mile to ensure your comfort during your stay, in the lovely gem that is Chico; and we look forward to your visit soon

Full Kitchen with all cook and dishware, as well as new appliances, including both a Keurig and a regular coffee maker. Inexpensive Laundry facility in complex, close to unit. Use of propane BBQ on patio. Remote controlled wall A/C with fan, as well as a wall heater with adjustable thermostat, two ceiling fans and one cylindrical, rotating fan in the unit. Free toiletries and cleaning supplies. 100% cotton sheets, towels, linens. Very comfortable queen sized, pillow top bed in bedroom, and very comfortable e-z fold out sofa in living room (please cover sofa with sheet if used as bed, to protect the suede : ) Condo is within close walking distance to shopping, several restaurants, and much more (see guidebook with this listing).
Interaction with guests
Depending on guests needs; but generally very little. However, we live locally and are are available 24/7 , and will assist with any issues, repairs or needs promptly.
We pride the condo on being very clean and odor free, and work hard to keep it very fresh and clean for our guests! Therefore...
No smoking indoors! We are strict about this. If smoking on patio, please keep sliding glass door closed, and fully extinguish and dispose of all cigarettes. Thank You for your understanding.
Pets possible, but MUST be pre-approved, and would require an additional $10 per night fee and a seperate $75 pet deposit upon check-in. The pet deposit is refunded to you upon check out, barring any issues. We rarely get guests with pets, and the condo is very clean and odor free as a result of that.
We MUST be notified of any pet. Lack of notification of any pet in the condo will result in termination of rental.
Pet MUST be housebroken, non destructive and relatively quiet. Although, as stated, we hardly ever get guests with pets, the ones we've had, all received their deposits back due to their careful observance and adherance to the pet rules.
The $75 refundable security deposit authorized by Airbnb at time of booking, is refunded promptly, by Airbnb, to credit card, upon checkout (barring any significant damage - which we have never had thus far, because Airbnb guests have been SO awesome).
-Please be frugal with heat, A/C and electricity; turning off when not in condo. But DO stay comfortable while inside.
-Condo is not ADA compliant, but it is accessible for smaller wheelchairs.
-No parties allowed. No loud music after 10:00 pm.
-At least one renter must be 25 years old with valid ID.

I am a Registered Nurse, pursuing my Masters, mother of two teenage sons, ages 16 and 17, and forever tinkerer of our treasured Airbnb properties. We also have a funny, playful, Old English Sheepdog named Molly who is everone's best friend!
Ian, the 17 year old, is a wonderful piano and guitar player, as well as an electronics wizard. He'll be majoring in Robotics Engineering at UC Santa Cruz in the Fall, 2015.
My 16 year old son, Kelsey, lives and breathes baseball, has been playing Travel ball for several years, and hopes to be in the MLB - Plan B, to be a Sports Writer, Coach or Teacher. He currently writes his own nationally recognized baseball blog.
