Well, for me it was really nasty experience to host Bijal and reporting her after hosting several nice people who visit us repeatedly. I have listed all Amenities, House rules, Staff info and their WORKING HOURS, food available in the property details itself and the guests are expected to go through it while booking the property. Airbnb makes it compulsory to read it. Even I repeat them verbally in my interactions with guests. Bijal booked the property prior 2 months and I answered all odd queries of her on phone on almost every 4 alternate days-right from providing detailed schedule of Train/BUS which is (though beyond my scope) easily available on internet now-a-days. Bijal being very ungenerous, had literally forgot that she was staying in someone's house and not in the Hotel. Being very bossy to my staff, expected service which is not provided in property amenities and House rules like demanding a BLUE TOOTH SPEAKER till getting the cloths washed from the maid and treating her rudely. My maid almost refused to come back on work next day as she was forced to wait till 5.30 pm on earlier day by Bijal and as she lives in rural area, had missed her bus way back home in the evening. So has the pre-defined working timings for staff. Bijal’s group consumed daily supplies like milk, towels/napkins and wanted more for same day which we DID provide them later on their demand. The Info provided about our manger, is also a complete LIE. As mentioned in property details, any equipment can go under maintenance at any point of time and He-the manager himself noticed during his evening visit that one gas geyser was not working, promptly made an effort to bring it back into use. But as it took some time to replace the batteries, Bijal was already impatient to complain about the things. In reality there is an extra bathroom on same floor, so if taken it easily should not bothered the guests. My house is more than 3500 sq ft big built over 3 floors, has living area around 800 sq. ft surrounded by a patio more than 400 sq. ft around it, large porch covered with anti-skid tiles at ground level and well-manicured garden outside. Still Bijal had complaint about an empty non-operational attic room where her small kids wanted to go and play.
Stay in a vacation-home/home-stay like property would be completely distinctly unique and enjoyable experience if Guests mutually understand what is available in particular listing and area and receive notably warm hospitality from hosts in small homely set-up where hosts wishfully make their owned place available to guests whom they don’t know before and want to offer best of the available comfort leaving behind sweet memories for both the parties.
